The full-size Chevrolet Tahoe has been completely redesigned for 2007. Interior materials quality is dramatically improved, and the Tahoe now has cleaner exterior styling, more accurate steering and a bit more power.

Pros:
  • Attractive interior with solid materials, smooth ride quality, smooth V8, comfortable seating, accommodates up to nine passengers.
Cons:
  • No fold-flat third-row seat, acceleration can be sluggish when fully loaded, hefty curb weight dulls handling.

  • Not Very Reliable - 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

Although my Tahoe LTZ has never left me on the side of the road, Ive had my share of expensive problems with it. I have had to replace the lifters because one of them was stuck. Chevy dealership told me theyd cut me a "deal" and repair it for $2500. I took it to a trusted shop in town and spent $1800 on parts and labor. On our last visit to the dealership, we were told our front differential would need to be replaced and this would cost around $2500 as well. The mechanic even suggested we think about trading our Tahoe in...real reassuring right? I have Lexus GS400 that is almost 10 years older than this truck and it still runs like a champ and Ive only had a few minor repairs here or there. The interior of the truck is nice. My toddler enjoys the DVD player. The 3rd row seating is a little cramped and the storage behind the 3rd row seat is almost nonexistent. The dash cracks. The door handles peel. These are little things I have learned to deal with. I love the look of the Tahoe but I hate that were running in to so many problems and we havent even reached 200k miles yet.

this is a out standing car for the most part but there are some down sides engineering wise. first of all the interior is fill with cheap plastic that cracks. second it burns through brakes like a race car and the most important in this segment of this car 2006 and up to present. the car has a defect in the engine where it causes oil to seap in to the cylinder and get burned up. well that may not sound bad at first but it begins to use oil in between oil changes. and the only to fix is buy new pistons or a new engine. mine is up to 2 quarts in between oil changes (3000 miles)

Bought this truck about six months ago it has been reliable safe and fun to have and its more fuel-efficient than our old expedition. Its plenty a room but beware if you buy one make sure you get the bang for your buck I have an LT but I also have a customer that has the same year LT as I do and he has features unlike mine , sunroof GPS , 4X4 an automatic footboards.

  • 124K and still Reliable - 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

My 2007 Z71 Tahoe has needed minimal mechanical attention. 1st set of Brakes and Tires were at 75 to 80K miles (and I tow a Boat in summer months). At 100K I had the Rear Differential, Front Differential, Transfer Case, Transmission, and Anti Freeze fluids and Filters changed. As well as Spark Plugs, Wires and Serpentine Belt. All as preventative Maintenance. At about 110K my Driver Side Wheel Bearing replaced, and about 120K my Passenger side Wheel Bearing replaced. This truck is as beautiful as any 8-9 yr old Truck can be. This vehicle has NEVER left me stranded or been towed due to mechanical failure. My opinion, Paint and Interior have outlasted anything in its year range.

I was a little skeptical about buying it,i got a LT with only 60k i went to the dealer to get a 40k SUV with 40k miles but i decided to wait,i saw this 07 with 60k one owner all records clean title etc etc,i got it for a very low price, very good deal! i had it for few months now and it feels great....drives perfect and its very roomy, feels like i am driving a pantoon boat with a lazy boy chair, handles very good in the city, and great, comfortable on road, great on gas too,if you buy a large SUV like this one you really dont care about that!,as soon i bought it i do all maintenance on it,so i expect to get at least 100k more,i dont regret it and very happy with, not problems yet

Bought Tahoe in December 2006, Till this day it still has "Stabilitrack" message on panel. Suv goes about 15 Mph all of a sudden, and then doesnt go past 45 Mph. Had it serviced twice in past. Two years ago door chrome handle peeled off again. Had them replaced once. Steering wheel peeled completely. Other older problems that warranty didnt cover, Seat belt casing fell off of back seat. Dashboard is cracked in 3 places. Paint on trim faded a couple months after buying it. Rear defrost wire is unsoldered. Battery has been replaced twice. But maybe it just uses a lot of electricity. Not satisfied with this vehicle. Will never buy another "Chevy"

  • What a truck! - 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

Shocked to find all these negative reviews! Bought my 2007 LTZ 4wd used 2 years ago, and it has been ROCK SOLID! It had 70K (or 50,000mi.) and Ive driven it 30K in 2 yrs (now has about 65,000mi.) Im hoping it continues strong as it continues to age. For now: looks like new and drives like new! Everybody thinks my truck is fresh off the assembly line. MOST of the mileage was done while pulling my 6000lbs camping trailer, so its not being babied. Only had to replace suspension compressor for air ride, and the rest has only been REGULAR maintenance.

  • Beyond Disappointed with vehicle and GM service! - 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

Im glad I came across this website! It feels good to know that Im not the only one who was obviously sold a lemon!!! For a minute, I thought maybe I was losing my mind in terms of the various things my car was going. "Did my lights really just flicker on and off?" "Did my car really just start popping out CDs, even though I didnt press eject?" I got my Tahoe in 2006 and began having issues with it around 2008. My lights would flash on/off, the doors would lock/unlock, it would sporadically shut down in the middle of the road, and now Im having issues with it starting. Now that I finally have the car paid for, the traction issue has started....go figure. This car is CRAP!!!

  • BUYER BEWARE. GM going bankrupt again, one customer at a time. - 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

I have a 2007 Chevy Tahoe that I purchased new for $49,000. The dash is cracked in 2 spots. Looking online, this is a rampant issue with nearly every Tahoe, Yukon, Avalanche, etc since 2007… GM will not issue a recall even though they know it is a widespread problem. The Service Manager and Service Advisor at AutoNation Superstition Springs both told me this is a common and rampant issue with all vehicles with this dash design (Tahoe, Yukon, Avalanche, etc) Their offer to me is that I pay a $400 deductible to replace this junk dash. Brian, the Team Lead in the Central Texas office of GM Customer Assistance refutes responsibility but acknowledges this is a common problem. Dont buy GM!

  • Oil consumption problem. Motor damage. - 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe
    By -

I feel I have been taken advantage of by GM. My wife called me today while driving my daughter back from a doctors appointment to tell me the engine was making a funny noise. I asked all the normal questions if any trouble lights are on or what all the gauges say. Everything was normal. I told her to drive to nearby dealership. Ended up oil was low. $150 dollars later in rental car fees for 1 day and $100 service oil was added and some additive also for sound when engine was running which will sit over night for check in morning. I start researching on-line and called a family member that works at a chevy dealership and I am shocked!Well documented cases of major oil loss issues.
