Overview & Reviews
A new high-performance model, the V70R, making 300 horsepower, will be available later in the year. A leather-wrapped steering wheel and an audio unit with a CD and cassette player grace the interior of the 2.4 and 2.4T. The latter also gets real wood trim. For the all-wheel-drive version, the 2.4 turbocharged engine receives a small bump in displacement and horsepower. Rain-sensing wipers and OnCall Plus (the telematics system) are available, and two new colors, Titanium Grey and Ruby Red, brighten the exterior.
- Superb comfort, plenty of safety equipment, solid construction, available all-wheel drive.
- Gets expensive when you start adding options, tight rear legroom.

nice except for electronic glitch - 2003 Volvo V70
By pittsburgh v70 owner - February 14 - 10:36 pmOverall, we are happy with the 2003 V70. The car handles very well, it is esthetically pleasing, gets good gas mileage, and has great storage. The main complaint is with a cold-start problem. The car would not start at temperatures below about 30 - 35F. Frustratingly ironic for a Swedish car. Left us stranded once. Eventually, Volvo tracked the problem down to a faulty engine control module after a few repair attempts. Since then, weve had no complaints. Would probably buy another.

Very comfy - 2003 Volvo V70
By woodchuckscout - September 3 - 2:00 amIts big and drives like a tank, the fuel economy is pretty good, however if you open the sun/moon roof all the way back, it creates a funny wind effect sound, annoying.

Its better than a truck! - 2003 Volvo V70
By Lumbering along - August 28 - 2:00 amVolvo V70 2.4 T Black with Black Drives a bit better than a truck and easier to park. Its an attractive car that really shines when you have people and things to move. Its huge! I guess you dont buy a VOLVO for fun and this new model proves it. I have about 1,000k on it and if it turns out to be reliable ill be happy about my decision to purchase a VOLVO. Its still better than a truck!
