Nice comuter vehicle - 2011 Volkswagen Jetta
By scanman11 - September 17 - 9:16 amAfter quite a bit of research-usuall Hondas, Toyotas, Chevrolet, Ford etc we (My wife) decided that the Vdub was for her- I think it was the lightly covered leatherette, the bluetooth and the touchscreen radio (Interfaced well with iphoneSatelite radio etc) It is a comfortable car for her 45min commute-actually more comfortable than my 2009 BMW 335i- very good MPG, she is getting about 32 mpg in mixed traffic conditions, this after about 1800 miles. My only gripe is that after 1750 miles the injecters went and left her stranded. Yes, the dealership fixed the problem- but she had to fight for a "Loaner" or "rental" for the day and a half that it was off the road.

By klamp80 - September 9 - 10:59 pmI have about 24,000 miles on my car. My engine light came on the other day and I am also having some electrical issues. The speakers fade in and out depending on whether I have the heat on or if I open a window. Its strange but not shocking since I know they are notorious for electrical problems. Up until now, I havent had any issues with the car. Overall I dont dislike the car. The pickup is okay, I feel that its a comfortable ride, and it handles well for me in terms of performance.

By kmck - September 1 - 4:45 pmI posted a review previously (titled EXCELLENT car but not with a few caveats) and Ive had a few issues in the year and a half since Ive bought it. First, door seals were terrible and made squeaky noises and took 3 visits to fix. Alignment went awry and now my whole car vibrates and makes a loud noise when braking -- and Im not even remotely a heavy-footed driver/braker. One of my window switches is loose, and the driver seat makes a clicking noise when going over bumps. I bought a new car so I could stay out of the service area for a while, what the heck VW?

By alco_pa - February 26 - 12:32 amBefore you buy one better check the paint, mine has milky spots under the clear coat. I did not notice until I washed and waxed it. Look it over carefully... Too bad, I really was looking forward to a great car.

By xscoops - January 22 - 6:52 pmI just recently got my Jetta SE but love it! I have driven many different makes and models and for the cost the Jetta is certainly the best value. I was, like most, somewhat apprehensive after reading reviews about poor interior quality but took it upon myself to go investigate. After driving and seeing all the great features I was impressed and bought the car right after. Dont be swayed by any reviews until you have personally experienced the car for yourself!

Ex Japanese buyer now German.... - 2011 Volkswagen Jetta
By cube69 - December 29 - 11:19 amThis is my first car that wasnt Japanese but Im very happy I made the switch. The Jetta has more room than any other in its class. The doors close with a solid thud to let you know the difference in the quality and fit and finish of this car compared to others. The Jetta feels solid on the road with no excessive road noise like my Honda. I like the design of the Jetta which I feel will last with time. My next car will be VW, I like German engineering and safety.

By joshl - December 16 - 5:31 pmWhen buying this car you get a perfect sized car for almost everything. In normal drive mode you can sometimes have to live with a little break between shifts but put it in sport mode and shifts tighten, and the car accelerates like a dream! Always look forward to driving it and really enjoy being an owner.

By Cynthia Culp - November 6 - 6:33 amLove the car - Gas mileage is outstanding, very comfortable to drive, plenty of get up and go and hugs the road like a sports car. I am sorry to have to trade it in but it is in my best interest to do so. Really want to keep it but am not sure how the modification (if such a thing is ever available for it) will affect performance.

By saabturbocoupe - September 6 - 6:19 amAt first look, you may think that the jetta s is a great buy. For what your getting, and the price your paying, youll probably think its a no brainer (if you like the new style). That was my mistake. I was looking for a car that was good on gas, didnt requier premium fuel, and was an overall good car. After driving this, I thought it was great. After 2 weeks, I now realize I made a terrible choice. Even with the manual transmition, this car is extremly slow, and shifts very clunky. When you use the wipers, something clicks when the wipers go up, and again when they go down. The seats arnt as comfortable as they first seem either. All I can say is, I miss my honda, will trade this in soon.
