This Year's Model Updates:

A few changes occur on the 2007 Volkswagen Jetta. Good news for consumers: VW has lowered the car's price by an average of $1,400 without making any significant cuts in feature content. The company says the change is to foster increased competitiveness against Asian-brand sedans. On the downside, the popular diesel-fueled Jetta TDI has been discontinued due to its inability to pass new 2007 government emissions tests. Look for it to return next year. Other updates for the '07 Jetta include the return of the Wolfsburg Edition sedan (which has the 2.5-liter engine and standard leatherette upholstery), a new Apple iPod adapter, simplified cruise control actuation, a standard tire-pressure monitor and, as options, a 115-volt power outlet and Homelink transmitter. Finally, VW has renamed the base-level Value Edition trim level just "Jetta."

  • So far, so good! - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta

I bought my first VW on a whim in September. I was apprehensive of the infamous VW "quality" issues, but went ahead and got it anyways. So far, I have absolutely no regrets at all. The car is a lot of fun to drive, looks great and is comfortable. The interior quality is impeccable-on par or better than BMWs and Audis. Ive driven it 7,000 trouble-free miles so far, and hope it stays that way. I am admittedly still holding my breath waiting for a problem to pop up- hopefully this VW will prove me wrong!

I Bought this car Brand New. With in the first 3 Months they charged me $623 for a new passenger window and supposive a bad regulator as well. That being said I didnt take the car at all for any work to be done on it until a Airbag light came on and the passenger side airbags didnt come on with someone in my seat.. The dealership said it would cost $870 for a new module for the seat AND that there wasnt any available but luckily they fixed the problem for $106 to reprogram the computer.

This has been a sporty, well-built vehicle and I have not had a bit of trouble w/ it in 4 years. PROS: - tight steering / drive (typical of European cars) - safe - advises if road is slippery - appearance - sits up high CONS: - more costly to maintain (e.g. oil changes) - not super comfy for longer trips - fuel efficiency (average)

  • VW for life - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta

Always liked the Bug when I was growing up, so when it was time to buy a new car in 2006, we took a chance on the new Jetta. The car is awesome in every way. Looks, handling, reliability, everything. The car is built for people who like to drive, it is so fun. Got into a bad accident with it earlier this year, not a scratch on me, plus its fixed and like new. Love it!

  • Should have done this years ago - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta

I bought this used with 42K on it and have driven in 2500 in one month. It is my "working mans BMW". I love this car. It is a TANK. Sturdy, quick and comfortable. After 2 weeks I rear ended my wife in our drive way (steep and curvy) she was backing down in a Mazda 626, I was driving up. Her car was destroyed and subsequently totaled, The Jetta -- just a few scratches. So we took the insurance money and went out and bought another Jetta for her.

I purchased an 07 Jetta GLI Fahrenheit (6-spd manual) May of 07. I have been very impressed by how well-balanced this car is. It is a reliable, efficient, practical, and fun vehicle to drive and own. I have averaged 25mpg with a typical mix of highway and city driving. The interior build quality is far superior to any other auto in its class. Fun and exhilarating!

  • My VW Rocks! - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta

This is a great solid car. You get the convenience of a sedan but with more personality and fun. Its roomier than previous models. Trunk space is great, and grocery hooks are handy. The tire pressure monitor is a plus. The low profile tires are a little sticky, so rides on the highway can be bumpy and uncomfortable for some. The premium fuel recommendation could be pricey even with the good gas mileage. Im a little concerned with VWs past reliability history, but so far Ive been pleased. I chose this over the Acura TSX because I like the sportier feel and its features for price. I actually dont mind the drive to work!

  • Rides like a Truck - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta

The 2007 Jetta is a very appealing car, but I dont like driving it. The ride is very rigid and feels like riding in an old beat up truck.

  • My Dream Car - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta

This was my dream car. I bought it new for a good price back in 2007. The front seats are comfortable but theres not much space for the back unless you drive with small children. The AUX hook up is very inconvenient, it is located on the far upper right side of the glove box (inside). The a/c is actually really loud, you pretty much have to yell with your passengers to hear. The a/c vents in the back do not blow as much as what they should. I had to replace the outside door panel (black part) because of the South Florida sun beating on it. So in the beginning it was a very good, reliable car. Once you hit the 65k+ miles on it thats when the problems start .. first my a/c went. At first they told me it was the antifreeze but then it turned out to be the compressor which cost a lot. Then my coolant holder broke, unknowingly I was driving from work and I noticed that the engine temp was sky high I pulled over only to see that it had broken. The leather seats began to crack and the dealership said to repair it would cost a lot. My car currently has 83k miles and the transmission is starting to go. Needless to say, I am getting rid of it and getting a new NON-Volkswagen vehicle. Good car at first but just be aware of the costly repairs down the road.

  • Good Value, So Far - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta

I just traded in my 01 Wolfsburg Edition for the new 07 model. The engine is solid; it whines a bit at low speeds but has enough juice. The lack of a Turbo takes some of the "fun factor" out of it. The old one had one, but the lack of a turbo but probably makes for a more reliable ride. The styling is OK, its grown on me a lot since I first saw it. I used to think it looked just like a Corolla but now think it looks a bit more distinguished, especially in black. It has lots of thoughtful extras. Overall I am happy, it has modest power, convincing leatherette, a moonroof, a 10-speaker stereo and heated seats plus a good warranty for under $20,000. I shopped the Altima (great but more money), Civic/Accord, Camry, and Fusion. This was the clear winner.
