A few changes occur on the 2007 Volkswagen Jetta. Good news for consumers: VW has lowered the car's price by an average of $1,400 without making any significant cuts in feature content. The company says the change is to foster increased competitiveness against Asian-brand sedans. On the downside, the popular diesel-fueled Jetta TDI has been discontinued due to its inability to pass new 2007 government emissions tests. Look for it to return next year. Other updates for the '07 Jetta include the return of the Wolfsburg Edition sedan (which has the 2.5-liter engine and standard leatherette upholstery), a new Apple iPod adapter, simplified cruise control actuation, a standard tire-pressure monitor and, as options, a 115-volt power outlet and Homelink transmitter. Finally, VW has renamed the base-level Value Edition trim level just "Jetta."

Loving the New Jetta - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By IML8 - May 25 - 6:00 pmThis is my second Jetta. While I am still partial to the old body style, I love the interior of the new Jetta and the extra room it provides. The biggest reason I bought a Jetta again was for their safety record, as I was recently in a head on car crash (I was in a Jeep Liberty).

By Larry - May 24 - 3:00 amThis car has excellent fit and finish with upscale materials. The poor mans BMW is back with Class. Our other car is a Chrysler 300 and the Jetta has a smoother, quieter ride. We went with the 5-speed for the sports sedan fun, but the auto transmission with sports shift was a strong contender. The exterior styling is a little bland, our neighbor thought it was a Corolla and it reminds me of an old Altima. It has a smooth shift, but the quiet engine makes it easy to stall. Ironic huh? The multi-adjustable console/armrest is great. So far I would choose this car all over again.

The take off is awesome.I drive to and from work which is about 13 miles. Its the smoothest ride for such a small car. After having it for two years I will trade it in for another VW Passat.

By mgreen02 - May 1 - 3:56 amI did lease takeover, 2.0 T w/6 spd manual, leather & s/roof (not highline). I have leased Acura TSX & have a BMW also. Im very happy with the performance & handling of this car. The interior isnt quite as nice as the TSX. This engine sounds more invigorating. I still get 600 km/tank. Huge trunk. Requires premium fuel. Goes like hell when you step on it! Even at low rpms it pulls beautifully! After 1 month reliability has been fine. Before I took over, it needed a fuel pump repair; the car wouldnt start. If it behaves I will look for another jetta.

Would be better in Germany - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By lefuulei - April 26 - 10:08 pmI bought my Jetta Brand New of the lot. Everything on this car is decent to good but not stellar. Its a nice, sporty vehicle, great sound system, handles well and I loved it while I leased it. But even during that time frame there were recalls on the vehicle for small things like Light adjustments. Another recall was for the sunroof but they charge you $150 to fix it. Third recall was for fixing the wiper blades which threaten to cut the fuel line. The spedometer is off and the clock runs fast. But be warned: If the EPC light comes on you wont have any idea WHAT it is! Recently just spent $400 to repair the speed sensor. As with any foreign car: Expect expensive parts and limited service.

Cant Wait to Get Rid of It - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By Erik - April 3 - 7:33 pmI bought this car and was happy with it until I started driving it further than a few blocks and winter came. It has no comfortable seating position. Also, the defroster does not heat the bottom part of front window, which leads to snow and ice buildup under the wipers. The transmission whine makes it sound like police are always present, when its not grinding its gears. I used to have a V6 and the average gas mileage on that was nearly 20% better than I get on this car (though EPA ratings show it the other way around).

Smooth operator - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By big guy cool car - March 10 - 8:03 pmI always wanted a Volkswagen ever since my brother got one. I finally got a jetta wolfsburg and I love it. When you want to hit the ground running it responds immediately. One of the main reasons why I went with this car rather than a Honda is because I love the expensive look of the car, the little details and strong sheet metal that holds it all together. I recommend this car to all my friends.

Love My Jetta - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By Franco Lopez - February 9 - 4:43 pmI love my new Jetta. All I have done to it is add a small Bazooka to have some punch to the music in the car. It drives great and feels like a tank compared to other Japanese cars that I had test driven prior to this one. To show me how well built it was, the 200 lbs. salesman hung himself on the door for 5 seconds, and the door still closed perfectly! He said: "Dont try this on a Honda." I thought that was funny. I love the Tiptronic automatic transmission and the sports mode, which gives me a pseudo-manual feel of a sporty driving experience. The rigid suspension helps in this as well. After test driving several makes and models, as soon as I drove the Jetta I knew that was my next car.
