For 2004, all Jetta models get an updated look, optional telematics and a new and more powerful 1.9-liter TDI engine (GL and GLS models only). The 2.0-liter engine is now PZEV-rated, and the GLX trim is no longer available. Also note that you can no longer get the 1.8T engine in GL trim. Besides that, the GLI sedan sports new 17-inch alloy wheels and the Cold Weather Package items (heated seats and washer nozzles) as standard, while the GLS features a standard Monsoon stereo. The wagons get a revised instrument cluster late in the model year, and the sedans get new metallic trim rings around the gauges.

  I am 27 y/o male, 3rd Jetta. Nothing beats German engineering and design I bought 2 Jeep Grand Cherokees and one Toyota Tundra, but missed the way the german cars, the Jetta, drove. With rising fuel prices, and not wanting to give the Saudis more oil money, I turned in my 2001 Grand Cherokee for this 2004 Jetta, and dont regret it. It has all the features my Limited GC had, plus a better crash test rating, side and curtain airbags, and it corners so much better through the Holl

  My 2004.5 Volkswagen Jetta GLI has been flawless. The personality and charm is understated. The build quality and engineering has been well thought out, and my MPG has been 20% better than expected (22-30). I love the the upgrades that they offered on the 2004.5 GLI. Thanks VW.

  I went from a truck to this car for better milage. The car is solid, fun to drive and loaded from the factory. This was a great feature. The car drives better than I thought it would and better than any other car of its size I have driven. I would recommend this car to anyone

  This vehicle is awesome! I have the 1.8 Turbo and it definitly has a lot of Pep! The interior is vey comfortable and it lights up neon blue & red at night..pretty cool..:) The color is a new one this year (2004) Platinum Charcoal Gray..which is very classy looking. I would recommend this car to anyone..:)

  I was recently in the market and I looked at Merecedes C Class, Volvo s40 2004.5, Acura TSX, Acura RSX, Mazda RX8, Mazda 6, Nissan Altima, and Ill be honest I never thought to look at Volkswagen. But, Im really happy I did. I love this car. Its so much fun to drive and for the money you cant beat all the options. The interior cabin is well designed and the car just feels solid. I was concerned the 4 Cyl. wasnt going to be enough power, but it has quite some pick up Ive been shocked. Long story short... If your in the market please look at them I think its a great car for the money and so does everyone who sees it.

  Ive had the car for about a month, im at 1200 miles. So far no technical problems. Car looks great inside and out, many standard features. Love driving it,handles great. Its my first stick shift and car as well, i actually had to learn how to drive manual before buying the car.If you get bored with it, there are many modifications that u can get on this car, check ebay. Overall good car, i would definitely buy VW again.

  I drive 75 miles round trip daily and take the kids all over the place. I need only one tank of gas weekly getting 44.5 MPG. The car drives beautifully and is smoother than my last three new cars. The Jetta TDI jumps out of the starting blocks and cruises like a champ. My 17 year old wants to drive it all the time.

  this is the second jetta i have owned and i have to say that it is by far the best one. I read the bad reviews and the good reviews and it seems like there are a fair amount of lemons out there. Thank GOD i didnt get one, but i have to say that you really cant beat German Engineering. I will never buy another car that isnt a VW. Everything about the car is a blast. The exterior of the car is great and i get looks everywhere i go. The interior is great too with the brushed aluminum and recaro seats (which can get a little weary after a long trip).

  I bought this care on a lease last August and absolutely love it. It is incredibly fun to drive, the leather and heated seats are great. The standard sunroof is a bonus. I have had no problems with the car. The only bad thing is for a car this size I expected better gas mileage.

  Drove the 1.8T Beetle for the last four years and loved the ride. The Jetta powerplant feels just like it. Plenty of power from the 1.8T and better handling than the Beetle make this a much better ride. The interior styling is beautiful.
