Stand Out In The Crowd! - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan
By Rudy28801 - July 31 - 2:00 amThe most roomy and best looking of all vans Ive seen.. Great to take out one of the middle seats and its almost like a living room! We have 2 small kids and this is the best ( cargo and comfort) for a road trip/vacation. Have yet to have any problems to speak of.. A/C went out but dealer replaced it promptly (covered on warr.) Ride is nice but lots of noise from outside. Id buy another in the future...

10 year review - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan
By Plova - March 18 - 12:33 pmI have had this car for 10.5 years since new and still enjoy driving it. Just coming up to 70K so low mileage. I do almost all the work on my car so the maintenance is not bad. Repairs that have been needed to date are: coolant temp. sensor $30.00, MAF sensor ($190) and now just need to replace the O2 sensor ($76.00). New front end bushings need so installed new front control arms and tie rod assembly with alignment ($1,000). Replaced original brakes at 32k(front) and 34K (rear) and now have about 10K left on 2nd set so have drilled Zimmermann brakes and EBC pads to go on. Tune up easy to do. Most important service is to change transmission fluid per service manual

Van - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan
By Drom - December 23 - 10:00 amThis is an exceptional van. I have the weekend package on it, which is a must if you get the van. Take the kids fishing and camping on the weekend. Go to the beach and take 6 kids with you with lots of room.

good, but coud be so much better - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan
By gary warren - April 22 - 2:46 pmAs a salesman with bulky samples to lug around it is perfect, small outside, huge inside. "removable" seats arent very sophisticated, the driving position is very awkward, needs the Passat tilt wheel ( why DIDNT THEY!)also needs a REAL overdrive to help improve mileage. The handling is quite good, feels solid, it IS a little noisy at speed . I have over 58,000 now and dealer says the A/C compressor might need replaced ?(choke) overall, it took awhile to "get used to" but it suits my needs quite well.

Fun in a box - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan
By Californian - March 30 - 10:00 amThis van is a blast. We have the rear configuration where the seats face eachother. Kids actually fight to ride in our van - often leaving adults carpooling on their own. If you are not into your kids and thier friends, this van is not for you. Plenty of power, stylish, fun to drive. Get lots of comments.

3 Year Update - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan
By jeff66 - October 12 - 8:33 amI originally wrote a review back in Nov. 2002 when the van had only 5500 miles on it. Since then I have had no problems what so ever. Overall, the performance has been excellent. Had the engine replaced after my father hit a drainage grate on a newly built section of highway and it took out the oil pan - thanks WSDOT ! Engine replace with lower mileage engine and so far so good. The fuel economy is a little less than before, but may be due to using regular unleaded and more city driving - averaging around 16.5 - 17 mpg. Had to replace tires at 25K, and babied the Dunlops to get this much out of them. Keep wheels balance and van aligned per schedule. Otherwise van has been great.

Excellent vacation mobile - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan
By rtt108 - September 22 - 2:00 amThis is the perfect family van. Useful and fun! The MV seating configuration sold us. Traveling with kids is great. Handling is tight and precise. I did add a european headlight switch to activate the rear fog light circuit, and installed a rear fog light. A lot of technical advise is available in Yahoo Groups, under: "ev_update" My wife gets a big kick out of teenagers stopping her in parking lots to tell her "Thats a really cool van!". NOTE: I find most written reviews on this van to be either wildly inaccurate, or so full of personal bias as to be useless, if not offensive.

A Nice Alternative Worth Considering - 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan
By EuroDad - July 11 - 10:00 amA good value given the standard equipment. Materials do not feel as cheap as in some competitor vans. Drives a bit more truck-like than some competitors but not harsh. The view is commanding and pick up is outstanding. Weve averaged about 19.5 MPG so far. Features such as the storage shelf in the rear are great. My wife loves the room and that she can actually move between the seats easily as we are loading things. Build quality is generally good, but glove box has broken twice and a rattle in the door pillar caused by missing/ damaged liner clips from the factory was disappointing. Response from VW has been sympathetic but not what we hoped.
