Overview & Reviews
Toyota has expanded the Tundra's body style variety by adding a new StepSide model. Its distinctive styling includes flared rear wheel arches and special tail lamps. If you want to make the StepSide even sportier, there is a new sport suspension package available. All 2003 Toyota Tundras have a restyled front fascia, standard antilock brakes and a center console similar to the one found in the Sequoia SUV. For the top-line Limited trim, Toyota has added a power sliding rear window.
- Silky V8, Toyota build quality and reliability, less-than-full-size maneuverability.
- Lacks wide range of choice offered by domestics, somewhat uncomfortable front seats, meager rear cab room on Access Cab, chintzy interior trimmings.

Glad I Bought This One - 2003 Toyota Tundra
By Jeff - July 9 - 3:13 pmAfter owning for for 4.5 years, I am extremely happy with my purchase. Rock solid Toyota reliability; solid performance for a half ton. This truck has fulfilled all of my needs including pulling boat, 4x4s pop-up camper, and hauling building and yard supplies. Id highly recommend as a light duty truck

Transmission troubles - 2003 Toyota Tundra
By hermie - June 16 - 10:00 amThe 5 speed manual transmission vibrates too much. Two dealerships told me that was normal. Transmission seems to downshift itself even thought it is a manual transmission. Very uncomfortable feeling.

Tundra Access Cab Limited - 2003 Toyota Tundra
By Steve H.S. - May 29 - 2:00 amOverall its an excellent vehicle, with mileage a bit low but expected to be such (averaging 16 mpg). After 15,000 miles, Ive had no maintenance problems. Smooth ride, great brakes. The bed is plenty big, but the back seat is too cramped for anyone to ride in.

Outstanding Truck - 2003 Toyota Tundra
By D Hanna - April 17 - 2:00 amI just bought this used with 22,000 miles and am amazed at what a fine vehicle it is. Did have a Tacoma with 145000 miles prior to this truck and expect this will be drivable for a long, long time. Thanks Toyota.

Not good with kids - 2003 Toyota Tundra
By stephanie - April 5 - 2:23 pmThis truck is not good for kids and small children. There is not enough room for two car seats to sit side-by-side. That means there is wasted space in the middle. My kids legs are crammed against our seats. I have hit my head in there numerous times getting them into the truck. The door design is horrible. If you park close to another car, you are sure to hit another car with the door getting your kids out. There isnt anything wrong with this truck if you dont have children. Its a good, reliable vehicle, but its just not compatible with small children in car seats.

The new stepside - 2003 Toyota Tundra
By DonK - March 22 - 10:00 amThis truck is my first new vehicle and I looked at everything first. After a test drive, I was hooked on the tundra. It performed well, looked great, was very comfy, and had all the options I wanted with nothing I didnt. I couldnt get that in a Ford (I couldnt even get the off road package in green on a Ford).

Great truck except for rough shifting - 2003 Toyota Tundra
By Winedog - February 13 - 2:00 amI like everything about the Tundra except for the way it shifts at low speeds. If you accelerate quickly it shifts fine but if you are in rush hour traffic or just drive slowly it surges into gear when it upshifts. Also, the transmission does not know which gear to be in at around 11 mph. Be careful when you test drive because the truck shifts great when cold, make sure it is warm before you decide to buy.

Rating offset - 2003 Toyota Tundra
By gmaster - January 1 - 2:00 amLooks like the Tundra needed some help to off-set the obvious biased, false ratings ftom the disatified American Brand owners. Notice I send American Brand, but the truck is probably not american made. Where is the tundra made? INDIANA!

best truck - 2003 Toyota Tundra
By Picky - November 20 - 2:00 amI am an engineer and I reserched all the trucks and read at least 20 differnt articals. The tundra comeout on top for what I and about 90% of truck buyers use it for. I do some heavy hauling and have towed 2 trucks with it with no problems. This truck has great power and a great ride. (This is the best truck out there)
