Overview & Reviews
The 2010 Toyota Tacoma is essentially unchanged from last year.
- Wide variety of body styles and trims, engines offer good balance of power and fuel efficiency, excellent off-road ability, impressive build quality, well-appointed interior.
- Low seating position, spongy brake pedal, V6 can get noisy.

Wish I could love the Taco, just like it - 2010 Toyota Tacoma
By TacoMan - April 16 - 12:06 amIf it werent for the -terrible- tires and the dealers even more disappointing response to the problem (feels like out of round tires @ highway speeds), Id love this truck. I bought what I wanted and kept it simple. 2x4 Prerunner, SR5, 5-speed. Guess Im gonna have to buy new wheels/tires, cause at this point I think the actual wheels are unbalanced. Oh, well!

So far so Good - 2010 Toyota Tacoma
By I like it - August 30 - 10:00 amI really like the is truck (except for my height issue). If the next model had a higher roof line like the new 4Runner Id trade up. It suits my needs well, with two kids. I didnt want to get a full size due to the crappy mpg, thats why opted for the Tacoma. 17.?? city all the time and highway is like 22 and change. No problems towing or hauling, however I did get the free spring upgrade to avoid future problems. I recommend this truck for sure.

My first truck - 2010 Toyota Tacoma
By Brandon - August 23 - 4:16 pmWell I purchased this truck after my first car (1996 Mustang) finally was a endless money pit. I had the mustang for 7 years. After alot of research I wanted either a F-150, which I couldnt afford new, or a Tacoma. I was impressed by the Tacomas looks and its mid-sized flavor. The regular cab is decent size and the auto transmission is ok. I wish the truck was more aggressive. The tires look tiny and dont fill the wheel well. Im taking it in for its first oil change this weekend. The silver color looks cool. I dont like the plastic bed or wimpy leaf springs out back but with a budget truck I guess I couldnt ask for more.

2010 Tacoma - 2010 Toyota Tacoma
By Don - February 11 - 1:00 pmI purchased my new Tacoma with high hopes that it would match up to my old 1992 SR5 Toyota truck. I am very disappointed to say that it does not. The steering wheel does not angle high enough to get out of the way of my knee when I shift. Come-on Toyota. The center console storage compartment should lift back, not to the side. I already had to replace my passenger side seat belt because it was torn. The gas mileage is horrible for a manual,(15-16). The engine is loud above 2300 rpm. The engine does not throttle down fast enough when you shift so you get this horrible whining each time you shift gears. I had much more storage in the cab with my 1992 Toyota. 250K with this truck. Not a chance

Tacoma 2010 prerunner - 2010 Toyota Tacoma
By Robert Klee - May 4 - 2:00 amNice mid sized truck, But when you let your foot off the gas pedal, in town and put in back on, it feels like it hunting for best gear, but its to low of a gear most of the time, and the engine revs and it not all that smooth, very disappointed.

liked at first--but - 2010 Toyota Tacoma
By madcatter - January 6 - 6:26 pmI like the truck, gas mileage isnt what I would like, but it is a truck. The only problem I have right now is after 1k miles--the bumper is rusting. Lotsa small specs. Waiting on dealer to call me back about it. Stock tires are junk. Other than that it rides well for a truck, good power I didnt expect the bumper to rust. If ya have a chrome bumper keep a eye on it.

Nice truck! - 2010 Toyota Tacoma
By frank - December 28 - 10:00 amJust bought pre-runner, auto, v6, this month. Love it! Everything inside out is all nice! One problem though, the transmission is a little sluggish, when slow down to 40, 30 mph. Overall, this is a nice truck!

Very Uncomfortable - 2010 Toyota Tacoma
By James - October 13 - 3:56 pmI like the styling, performance, quality of build. However, the seats are very uncomfortable! They make your back hurt if you drive for any distance. I even had the cloth seat covers replaced w/ leather. It did not help. I am seriously thinking about trading this vehicle for something else. I have never thought about getting rid of a new vehicle! Stock stereo system and speakers are WEAK! I replaced them.

Toyota 2 Dr Access Cab 4x4 - 2010 Toyota Tacoma
By Ben P - July 30 - 12:03 amThis is my 1st truck and I bought it because of the reputation. I shouldve gotten more features in the truck like remote mirrors, cruise etc. because once you spend that kind of money you feel like you should have more comfort and luxuries. Im a little disappointed on the gas mileage so far and how toyota "cheaped out" on some thing like the 4 wheel drive switch doesnt illuminate in the dark so you have to put the light on to locate it or the 1 CD player, seems like everyone else gives a better stereo system these days and at least cruise control?? Seems like they just give the "basics" and make you pay through the nose for any additional features.

So far, so good! - 2010 Toyota Tacoma
By CBinSantaCruz - July 20 - 6:40 pmI purchased a 2WD 4 cyl 4 speed auto Toyota Tacoma in June of 2010. Ive had this car for three months and have driven 7000 miles. I have two purposes for this truck. One is a daily commuter driving about 50 miles a day. The other is as my weekend warrior toy carrier mostly for car camping. As a commuter it works great. I get about 22 mpg in traffic going up a 4k ft mountain and back down the other side. As a weekend toy carrier it also performs well. I frequently drive on dirt roads and even with the 2wd it has performed well. I did get stuck in some sand once which made me want the 4wd. But I dont feel the extra money the 4wd costs is worth it for the type of driving I do.
