  • My 2 cents - 2003 Toyota Tacoma

Just trying to help all that are looking into purchasing a Tacoma. This truck is good over all, yes it does have its minor flaws in the design and seems to have common problems with all us owners. It works good for me since I am single and do quite a bit of hauling and driving. The gas mileage is good on highways but poor in town, the rattles that everyone is having, I too have up around the dash. The outside noise comes from the way the wind wraps around the side of the cab and not the rear wall. I still love this truck because it is reliable and is worth almost what I paid for it. One thing I hate is when I am braking and hit a bump, the anti-lock kicks in and causes me to slide a bit.

  • Great Truck just getting broken in - 2003 Toyota Tacoma

This is a well built and good looking truck. I am a bit of a neat freak but i do still get comments 7 years later on how good this truck looks. The paint, body and style has held up really well. 2 minor recalls, it has never failed. I have the TRD off road, its a bit bumpy but thats what you pay for!

  • Tacomas are a great little truck - 2003 Toyota Tacoma

These little Toyota 4X4s with a V6 are powerful fun little trucks to drive. They are reliable and frugal on gas. I only have two complaints. #1 They have a LOUSY turning radius. (I think Toyata did this to lower the rollover chance as the vehicle is slightly topheavy and thin... I like the metrics just not having them protect me.) #2 They dont have sufficient leg room for big people. My future wife and I are both over 6 I am longer in the torso and she longer in the legs. She cannot even fit her legs with the seats all the way back. This might not be as bad in the non King cab versions.

  • It Gets er Done - 2003 Toyota Tacoma

All things considered, its an excellent vehicle. All Ive had to do is the regular maintenance. Ive had no downtime whatsoever (well, except for the one recall but the dealer took care of it and gave me a free loaner). It pulled a U-Haul on my move from Missouri to California with no problem. It drives like a car. Plenty of power with the V6. The steering and the engine are very responsive which is a plus on the California freeways.

  • Third and last Toyota truck - 2003 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

This is my third Toyota truck, all different models, and I have been continually disappointed. Its a fun ride and I feel safe driving it. However, Ive expererience the same problems with all three models. I think 6 years is long enough to work out the kinks. If all youre looking for is a safe, fun rugged vehicle than this is it, but I recommend not upgrading to get all the options as youll be disappointed with quality vs. price tag.

  • QUALITY TRUCK - 2003 Toyota Tacoma

VERY RELIABLE VEHICLE ON AND OFF THE ROAD. MY TACOMA HAS ONLY THE TRD OPTION AND IT DRIVES OFF-ROAD LIKE A FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE, BUT IT IS NOT. I WOULD RECOMMEND THE PRERUNNER, FOR ITS HEIGHT AND EXTERIOR LOOKS.

I owned a 1986 standard bed Toyota 4x4 4cyl. 5sp for 9 years and had 125,000 miles on it before it was totaled. After that I purchased a 1995 Corrola which had 330,000 miles before tading it in on this 2003 Toyota Tacoma xtra cab, V6, 5 sp. I hope to enjoy this Toyata as much as the other 2. I loved the 86 truck and wanted to own another truck. I would only purchase Toyota because of its dependability. I purchased the truck Nov. 2003 and enjoy it except for the gas mileage.

  • Beats all Competition - 2003 Toyota Tacoma

While I have just purchased a 2003 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab this past weekend (I traded in a 98 Honda Accord, also a great vehicle), I must say that I chose the right vehicle. 4 door sedans dont compare with the versatility of a double cab or 4 door pickup. I looked at comparable models from Nissan, Dodge, Ford, etc., but nothing compares in its class to Toyota, period. The truck handles nicely, accelerates like a 4 cylinder (requires some revs, but gas mileage is much better than V6), but at least has multivalves where other trucks operate on 2 valves/cylinder.

  • Love this truck - 2003 Toyota Tacoma

I bought this truck because I was moving out west and wanted something to get me through any kind of conditions. Driven cross country several times with no problems at all. Very reliable and stylish, I get compliments on it all the time. I was worried the cost was too high but I havent regretted it for a minute since my purchase. I will drive this truck til the wheels fall off!
