  • Reliability NOT GOOD ENOUGH - 2005 Toyota Matrix

This is the most underpowered vehicle on the planet. We have the XR 4WD, why didnt it come with the S motor? It is dangerously slow! We get passed by semis on the hi-way all the time. The Toyota auto-power locks are terrible, everytime you want to get into a door, it locks itself. And you cannot manually turn off the headlights, this is very annoying if you are approaching someones place late at night it is like a plane landing. Why does the window lock disable the drivers controls?? Poor interior lighting control. Overall a BIG disappointment. Poor interior colors, shows all the fuzz and dirt, poor tire wear, poor disc brakes.

  • Good little car - 2005 Toyota Matrix

Good little car, only a couple small complaints. The fan belt squeaks in damp weather (replaced it twice). And the rear tires seem to wear down very fast. Very easy to get in or out, large cargo area. Fuel mileage not too bad. Getting about 33 mpg on highway.

This is a fun car to drive. Easy to see all the way around. The passenger visor is a little awkward when moved to the side window because it hits the passengers door handle. This car would be perfect if it was a bit longer and wider for the passengers in the back seat.

  • THE AMAZING MATRIX 2005 - 2005 Toyota Matrix
    By -

I formerly owned a Nissan Altima which was terrible on the road in the winter months. I saw the Toyota Matrix and I emailed the dealership and I went to test drive the Matrix. The minute I sat in the vehicle I loved it. The seats were very comfortable, the shift was right at your fingertips and I loved the aerodynamic build of the car. I took it out for a test ride it was wonderful. I remember it was snowing that day and it handled amazing. I went back to the dealership and I left with my new Matrix. The Matrix is excellent on gas mileage, easy to get into small parking places, and very convenient when you go shopping with the hatchback. I love my Toyota Matrix the heat is awesome!

This car is awesome. It has everything you would want to have a fun and safe drive. You get excellent gas mileage and it is awesome and extremely quiet to drive. Not to mention the little 4 cyl engine puts up all it has and this car is great to rely on!

  • Excellent for the Price - 2005 Toyota Matrix

The Matrix fits my needs perfectly. I wanted a car smaller than an SUV and good on gas. An addition, a spacious car that allows me to put the seats down in the back. I have a C230 Benz and I drive the Matrix more than the Benz.

  • Mazda3 Hatchback vs. Toyota Matrix - 2005 Toyota Matrix
    By -

This is a great looking car that handles great, and is very versitile. The Mazda3 is quite comparable, but it has a bigger engine (2.3L vs. 1.8L)and is also 5 inches longer. The matrix however sits higher the mazda which is great if you hate sitting in trafic and having low visability. It is higher then sedans and slighly lower then a Rav4 in terms of seating. Matrix is slightly wider and taller then the mazda3. Unfortunately I did not get to test drive a mazda3 before I purchased this car, as I fell in love with it the moment I took it for a test drive. It won out when I test drove a Rav4 and a camary before this one. Very comfortable seats, great for long trips. Toyota = Reliable!!

  • BEST VEHICLE UNDER $20K - 2005 Toyota Matrix
    By -

Paid $17K with 20 miles on it. Ours had the power package (pw/pl/cruise/keyless entry) It has everything you need. Panic button on the key adds extra security. For this price you get a vehicle with 26/31 MPG (best of all AWD vehicles) Winner of 2003 Compact Wagon Comparison Test on this site. You cant go wrong with this Matrix!
