Overview & Reviews
A Sport trim level debuts and revised SAE testing procedures have resulted in reductions in the stated horsepower and torque ratings, though actual output is unchanged.
- Rides and handles like a Camry, smooth V6 engine, fuel-efficient four-cylinder, lots of standard safety features, high crash-test scores.
- Poor access to optional third-row seat, bland personality.

Car to keep into retirement - 2006 Toyota Highlander
By Barry - February 9 - 12:03 pmAfter Lexus and Infiniti sedans, I choose a Highlander to keep when I retire in 5 years. Roomy, comfortable, great for trips to Home Depot. Also carries bikes and scuba gear. Carries a lot yet handles much better than our Jeep. Love the GPS. Good audio, seats, and climate. Good layout and controls. Wish it got better gas mileage.

highlander tires - 2006 Toyota Highlander
By allen - October 28 - 9:36 amThe highlander is an extremely reliable car. My first was a 2002 with no problems and the second is a 2006 model that Ive had for 10 months and so far so good.

2006 Hylander - 2006 Toyota Highlander
By Brown - September 16 - 10:56 amWe traded a 2003 Mazda Tribute after several years of relaiable service. We decided to test drive the Highlander. After driving this vehicle we were very pleased with the added space and the refinements, particularly with the quietness of the cabin and the smoothness of the ride. The transmission shifts very smoothly. It is truly an enjoyable vehicle to drive and I would recommend to anyone looking for a quality.

Great Build Quality But... - 2006 Toyota Highlander
By gettomedicss - January 8 - 1:13 pmIt feels solid, secure and safe. I`m 6ft tall, the seats are too short and gives me no thigh support. Im only getting 16-18 mpg with mostly highway miles and the cup holders are placed too far back.
