Great vehicle - 2005 Toyota Highlander
By Gina - September 30 - 8:23 amWe did a lot of researching before buying this car. I used to own a 1994 Corolla and was scared this would be a difficult transition. I have been very impressed with the car so far. The fuel economy is not that bad. I average about 22 miles per gallon. The ride is very smooth and the the car handling is impressive.

Disappointed - 2005 Toyota Highlander
By rdibella - September 29 - 9:10 pm1) Significant, frequent and dangerous hesitation problem (reminiscent of an out-of-adjustment carburetor in the old days). 2) Rough shifting transmission; shifts at odd rpm levels. 3) Annoying rear hatch door rattle. 4) Rough starting at unpredictable times. 5) Difficult to moderate AC/heat with the standard controls. 6) Other trivial items that, in the past, would have never been associated with a Toyota product.

Simply the Best! - 2005 Toyota Highlander
By Rob - August 19 - 3:23 amThere really is no other choice. By far the best SUV on the market for the price. This is my second one and I shopped around but there really wasnt even a close second choice. The quality of the Toyota is incredible and the ride is second to none. I had no problems with my first one, so why change?

interesting - 2005 Toyota Highlander
By steve - August 4 - 5:46 amcoming out of a camry for two years this new experence is interesting. The idea that "you cant have it all" applys here. up side roomie, stable, almost hands free operations, kick back and cruse. boxie but stable. Controls easy to find at a glance. The higher shift control which is similar to cars coming out in europe with shift high on the dash board is better than I expected.

Go 4 cylinder / Forget hi-$ hybrid - 2005 Toyota Highlander
By JMcVicker - July 15 - 9:56 amMy wife and I have gone down to Florida, averaging 25 mpg with this 4 cylinder Toyota Highlander. The torque ratio is amazing and this SUV has good power on demand. We never felt threatened while on I95 dealing with the 18 wheelers. Were not anti-green, just anti-premium. Why pay over two thousand dollars for the hybrid when you can get close to the same real milage from this four? Wait until they come down in price. One mans opinion.

Happy Campers - 2005 Toyota Highlander
By Cupid - July 7 - 6:03 amWe have only had our Highlander for 7 months but we could not be happier. No problems with performance or engine quality and we changed from V6 minivan to 4 cylinders. Only complaints were with internal finish. We had to have some minor adjustments done to roof molding etc.

limited? - 2005 Toyota Highlander
By randyr - June 26 - 3:13 ami enjoy the smoothness of the ride. I really hate that bouncy typical suv feel. i have always driven a honda, from a civic to the accord. now its time to move up to an suv. i didnt like the honda pilot b/c it felt like a truck. so i thought id try the highlander b/c of its car-like feel. i wish there were more standard features for toyotas limited class like memory seats, illuminating side panel buttons, a station display somewhere on the navi system or anywhere, deeper cup holders (sharp turns are a disaster!) over-all i like the highlander, but i guess i was expecting a little more.

A Great Highlander - 2005 Toyota Highlander
By Bob - June 21 - 8:23 amA real nice SUV. I just had aftermarket leather put in for <1000. Fun to drive and very comfortable on all road conditions.

Great preactical design - 2005 Toyota Highlander
By Pablo - June 18 - 2:23 amToyota have done a superb job on this vehicle - good performance, reasonable economy, comfortable, fun to drive, not too big for around town, but roomy enough for long trips.
