In an effort to make Camry ownership more affordable, Toyota adds an entry-level Standard model to the lineup this year. All 2005 Toyota Camry models receive freshened exterior styling with a new grille, headlamps, taillamps and wheel designs. All Camrys now have antilock brakes as standard equipment, and the optional automatic transmission for all models is now a five-speed unit. Inside, all Camrys feature Optitron gauges, steering wheel audio controls, a rear center headrest and upgraded seat fabrics. The XLE V6 now includes standard leather seating.

A small bit of disappointment - 2005 Toyota Camry
By Mardamay - October 19 - 7:13 amI bought my Camry LE 3 months ago and love the comfort and smooth handling of it. I traded in a 95 Altima and find this much more comfortable and roomy. It definitely has the look and feel of a more expensive car, for a reasonable price, and ultimately the practicality and price won out for me. My sole disappointment is the MPG, I dont get the advertised 24/34, but more like 20/28, and I am no speed demon! Overall, a great car!

Toyota was my first choice, Honda was 2nd after test drove the Toyota I was sold, my wife wanted a moon roof leather int and my son wanted a V-6 engine, so I purchased the Toyota Camry XLE V-6 color super white very happy with the XLE V-6 the car drives like a dream, after getting all the options that the XLE V-6 offers I dont know how we lived without them. I added window tint that helps with night driving and factory mud flaps. We love this car!

Going for Best All-Around Value - 2005 Toyota Camry
By BZ - May 5 - 10:00 amIn researching cars over the years, I always start looking at the Honda Accord and Civic, but the local dealer simply wont deal. Too expensive and way too low on trade-ins. Found a car I like better anyway and the dealer deals: the Toyota Camry LE sedan with automatic and 4-cylinder engine. No wonder Camry is the best-selling car in America. Excellent value with best combination of standard features and price. Elegant classic look inside and out. Good performance and excellent economy. Thoughtful ergonomics and comfort. LE is so completely equipped that only optional equipment needed is driver and front passenger side and curtain airbags.

Still a great car after 11 years - 2005 Toyota Camry
By jw3YJ6 - May 3 - 9:48 amWe bought this new and its been a great car for us. Still running great after 11 years! Repairs and maintenance beyond the usual scheduled work include: 2 batteries, 3 sets of front brakes, 1 set of rear brakes, tires, exhaust, struts, water pump (replaced under warranty), glitch in the steering, leaking power steering fluid. The brakes have always been soft on this vehicle and with aging and pot-holed streets the suspension is looser than it used to be. Highway fuel economy is about 29 mpg in winter (with winter tires) and 34 mpg in summer (with all season tires).

Surprised - 2005 Toyota Camry
By Shel - April 5 - 4:50 pmIve just had my 2005 Camry LE for three weeks. My previous car was a Lincoln LS-V8. I was very pleasantly surprised at the standard features on the Camry, how comfortable and quiet it is, and how the performance is very acceptable to me with the 4-cylinder automatic. Cost of driving is about 50% of my LS considering the increased mileage and regular vs. premium gasoline.
