This Year's Model Updates:

For 2003, Suzuki has updated the Grand Vitara XL-7's dash and console with wood grain trim, chrome accents and a 12-volt accessory outlet. Other additions to the interior include a new seven-speaker system, integrated audio and cruise control buttons on the steering wheel, an adjustable center armrest with CD storage and smaller rear headsets for better rearward visibility.

Suzuki has also changed some of its trim names for 2003. The previous "Standard" trim has now simply become the XL-7, while the "Plus" has become the XL-7 with the option of third-row seating. The "Touring" model has been dropped all together. The Limited model is now being offered with a six-disc in-dash CD changer. Finally, a Limited model with the third-row option is also available with climate control and a rear air conditioning switch.

Pros:
  • Affordable base price, competent on- and off-road handling, optional seven-passenger seating, stylish design.
Cons:
  • Cramped second- and third-row seating, side airbags not available.

  • WHAT A GREAT BUY - 2003 Suzuki XL-7

I had no idea that Suzuki produced such a fine SUV. Any other brand SUV would have cost a lot more green. I have the hard to find Limited and love the detail in every part of the SUV. I belive this should be on any ones list looking for value and quality. I am sold.

  • Very good SUV!! Really happy with it! - 2003 Suzuki XL-7

Well I took the time and tested well known SUV like Nissan, Isuzu, Mitsubishi and others no so popular brands like Kia. Except the Isuzu(rodeo), all of them gave me a nice impression. After 2 months of testing My wife and I pick the Suzuki. It was the best value for the money; I like the ride, the power and the build quality. Really nice sound system also. The only reason why this car is cheaper than others is because of the name, Suzuki is not so popular. This car has better performance and offer more standard features for $10000 dollars less than the others. You can’t go wrong with this car!

We purchased a fully-loaded XL-7 / Touring 4WD (show car, which had 7,000 miles on it). Got it at a really reasonable price. Nice on the road. Not really a gas drinker. Very fun to drive! Interested if Suzuki will ever make a soft-top version?! LOL!

  • Nice - 2003 Suzuki XL-7

Bought the car last month. Test drove Element, Tribute, and Forester. The XL- 7 was all around much nicer to drive and had many more features for about the same price or less. Interior is nicer than our Audi. Have also previously owned a Trooper, Cherokee, and Tahoe and though smaller the XL-7 handles better and is queiter than any of those hogs.

  • Great SUV at a great price - 2003 Suzuki XL-7

In the XL7, I got the small SUV I wanted and we still have 7 seats for emergencies, although you do have to adjust the 2nd and 3rd row just right to make everyone comfy. The XL7 is on a sturdy truck frame and has a real and simple manual 4wd system. The engine is not a power dynamo but adequate and very smooth with the liquid filled engine mounts and 32 valve config. The engine using a timing chain instead of a belt also appealed to me. Gas mileage is better than expected, getting 22-23 on the open road and 18-19 in city driving. It is simple and practicle in engineering and design but comes with a host of standard features.

  • My Suzi has proven herself. - 2003 Suzuki XL-7

I just bought my suziki recently, used. I loved the looks of it and the 4x4 was what I really needed because I live in a flood area. It proved itself this past week when I came across a flooded road going home one night going home from work. It didnt look that deep but by the time I was half way thru the water was coming over the hood. It never lost power or traction. I passed a car stuck half way thru and the looks on their faces was priceless as they watched me drive (or possibly floating) by. I was scared but the adrenalin rush when I made it to the end was priceless. Had a little water in the passenger floor board. Other than that ALL DRY!!

  • Suzuki XL-7 is great for women too! - 2003 Suzuki XL-7

I absolutely love my XL-7! I had a mini-van previously but realized that I wasnt the mini-van type. I have two children who love the sunroof and elegant interior as much as I do. The only problem is getting the keys in the morning before my husband does.

  • 3rd row seating - 2003 Suzuki XL-7
    By -

I have found the third row of seating to be wonderfully handy for my kids and their friends. Though it is not as easy to get in and out of as a minivans third row -- the kids dont care -- they love it! I love the car and feel that it is a great value. 0% financing and full of standard options make it a great choice.
