This Year's Model Updates:

A 155-horsepower, 2.3-liter, four-cylinder engine; a seven-speaker stereo; and a driver-seat armrest are now standard on all Aerios. LX sedans (formerly called GS) and SX wagons now offer heated mirrors, foglights, a revised rear spoiler and an automatic climate control system on cars equipped with ABS. There's also a new 15-inch alloy wheel design.

Pros:
  • Wagon-body style, available all-wheel drive, affordable price, roomy interior, powerful standard engine, solid crash test scores.
Cons:
  • Almost no storage space in the cabin, low-grade interior plastics, sloppy handling, no side airbags available.

  • A Car For Any Season - 2004 Suzuki Aerio

If you are looking for 0-60 acceleration or fast and furious performance, dont get an AWD Aerio. The automatic tranny just wont allow it. The interior is well designed with the controls for everything placed just right. The car is very comfortable for my 63" 280 lb. frame. The factory radio is incredible and with the rear seats folded down I can fit more things in this than the old S-10 Blazer I had. This car really shines in bad weather. It handles snow and rain like a champ, and it eats up country dirt roads. All in all, with the interior room, all weather capability, and storage space, you almost feel like you are driving an SUV... except this has more standard features that most SUVs.

Bought the cheapest no frills car I could find for my 40 mile/day round trip commute. Couldnt find a decent used car so I took all the incentives (military, graduate, end of model year...) and got this Aerio for under 10K! Wow, what a surprise, the stereo sounds awesome and the five speed manual has alot of pep. I bought the optional roof rack and now I carry a 12 foot kayak on the roof every weekend. Definitely a fun, reliable, economical ride, and I even had a kid say "cool car" to me... This care definitely supports my hobbies and budget

The Aerio SX is a real peppy and safe feeling car. Its looks a little "egg shaped" which isnt always eye appealing however great for kids. Additionally the only interior color you can get is black. Why not have a neutral interior color more earth tone.

After driving my 04 Suzuki Aerio around the city for the last year I decided to take a small road trip, from Portland to Phoenix and back again through L.A. I experienced absolutely no problems and had a comfortable ride. The high winds had no effect on the drive, despite the side gust warning in the owners manual. I made the same trip in a Toyota Echo a couple of years ago and almost ended up in a ditch several times.

My SX exceeded my expectations for a small car.Suzuki gave me the extended warranty after purchase. The car performs w/pep w the 5 speed manual. It has suffcient power to pass at 75-80mph and has smoothly purred at 109 on a flat road on a hot sunny day.Even at high speed the car handled well with little roll and lower rpms than expected. The interior has room for such a small car, the AC kicks butt over the toyota matrix, vibe and honda civic - in Phoenix it is good to test drive in mid summer for back seat AC performance.Fully loaded at base it was the most logical decision to make over the competition.

  • I LOVE MY AERIO - 2004 Suzuki Aerio

I LOVE MY AERIO. IT IS FUN TO DRIVE AND I GET GREAT GAS MILAGE. EVERYONE LOOKS AT THE CAR. THERE IS ONE THING HOWEVER THAT I DONT LIKE BUT ITS NOTHING MAJOR I WAS TOLD. THAT IS THE RIGHT FRONT FEELING LIKE IT IS BOTTOMING OUT...AT FIRST WE THOUGHT IT WAS A STRUT BUT WHEN I TOOK IT IN THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT IS THE WAY SUZUKI MADE IT. I THINK SUZUKI SHOULD MAKE SOFTER RUBBER PIECE TO PUT ON THE ARM SO THIS DOESNT HAPPEN.

I drove my Aerio from Wa state to Texas and back on each drive we averaged about 32 miles to the gallon. In town I get about 30- 40. I was a comfortable car as well as hardly any one had seen one yet so it made it that much more fun.

  • Not Perfect But I Love It! - 2004 Suzuki Aerio

Bought w/10,000 miles on it and have driven it 5,000. The car handles fine for me. Each driver needs to decide their own priorities. Two of the Yokohama 195/55R15s wore out in 15,000 miles. This size tire cost $100 at most locations so I changed to 14 inch size designated for the base S model with 185/65R14 tires that are 1/3 the cost and warranteed for more miles. While this does reduce handling it improves the ride & seems more practical if you view this car as an economy AWD vehicle. Viewing it as a sporty AWD vehicle requires sticking with the 15 in wheels & tires. Running lights are too easy to mistake for headlights on. Should be an audible warning when low fuel light comes on.
