Lotta Fun - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By Keving - April 29 - 1:56 amThis is the most fun car to drive that Ive ever owned. The pick-up is just unbelievable, and the sport shift is the best of both worlds. The interior cant compare to the Acura TL, but I probably saved myself over $5,000 so who cares? Just test drive this Legacy, and youll want to take it home. Check it out.

Great car...if you dont have long legs! - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By gary1964 - March 28 - 10:00 amThis is a wonderful vehicle. Unfortunately, for a tall person with long legs, its very difficult to be comfortable driving. After 1500 miles I am still struggling to be comfortable. The non-telescoping steering wheel is too far away for me. The seat is very hard and short (I have to use a pad under my butt). The angle of the gas peddle is too high and there is little room left over for the feet under the dash. The headreast does not tilt forward. Sometimes after driving 20 minutes, my right leg and back are very uncomfortable. Didnt notice this until after I bought it. I am 511" well proportioned. Power is smooth, and Sport mode comes in handy when passing quickly.

Coarse engine spoils otherwise great pac - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By ntk1 - March 19 - 7:20 pmThe overall concept and package is excellent. The handling dynamics are about as good as you can get in a compliant riding sedan. The punch from the turbo engine means that you can really achieve some quick pace in the twisty roads. The downside is the coarse behaviour of the engine during moderate acceleration with a stuttering type response until you get past 5k rpm. This is not turbo lag but feels more like a fault in the engine management system. The dealer indicates the car behaves normally, however everyone who travels in the car comments on it

It Does the Job. - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By Pacman 2004 - March 3 - 11:46 amCar itself has been flawless. The rotors warped at 20,000 miles but dealer replaced them under warranty.

Ok car overall but amazing in the snow. - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By Craig - December 4 - 3:30 pmIf you are some one who needs a solid commuter car and deals with a lot of bad weather look no further. The cars boxer engine does a great job when you pass someone on the highway. What really is a disappointment is the low end torque, it is non existent. If you are like me and need that torque to get up to speed quickly on the highway with short on ramps then this is not the car for you. Even in a manual it struggles. Passing traffic amazing but no torque. Gas mileage is excellent and the all wheel drive can handle almost anything. Headlights went out twice but dealer was great and replaced. What I do not get is why the backseat does not fold down. Major problem with kids.

Rides Hard - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By EricB - November 20 - 7:50 amI test drove 7 vehicles before buying my Subaru 2.5 GT LTD.(auto). I like the car a lot, however the ride is sporty, i.e. rides a bit hard if you are coming out of a car like an Accord V6 like I was. Power is great. The left-side rearview mirror is distorted and getting replaced (dealer was helpful, no problem). I miss a few things like radio controls on the steering wheel. I have the optional subwoofer and the radio sounds great. I find the seats a bit hard but finally found a good adjustment for me. No turbo boost gauge. My first tank I got 19.6 mpg., fair enough considering I was in the go pedal a bit. I love the way it looks, mines black. So far, so good. I recommend it.

Subaru Legacy GT - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By Todd F - November 17 - 8:53 amAn exceptionally designed car that is a vast improvement over its predecessor. The turbo-charged version gives it a great fun to drive quotient, and its handling is absolutely superb for a family sedan.

Great Car - but stumped the expert - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By Jeff Lampe - September 26 - 7:33 amI have had the Subaru GT Ltd for about 9 months. I absolutely love this car, it fits me like a glove and drives like no other car I have ever had. It is classic, conservative, but with an attitude that I can turn on with a little pressure on the gas. I blow the doors off the hot little Hondas and German cars. The handling is tight and I love cruising around in it. However, things came crashing down after taking it thru a car wash. The ECU, bulkhead wire harness, integrated unit have been replaced and who knows what else is needed, certainly not the dealers or the Subaru expert knows why it will not start, or not run for more than 30 min. It has been in the shop for the past 9 weeks.

By margie - March 20 - 10:43 pmI live in Northern NY, snow covered curvy, mountainous roads. I love the way the car handles and brakes.
