Nice machine...on snow - 2004 Subaru Legacy
By Stan - April 6 - 6:00 pmVery well build car. Exceptional on snowy/slushy roads. Great road drivability. Bought just several months ago but love it so far. Not too keen with the outdated design though.

Love my Subie! - 2004 Subaru Legacy
By JC - February 1 - 10:53 pmBought it used with 25k on it. Currently have 110k. Have not had any problems. Goes thru a lot of tires but I guess thats the AWD. Would like a few more horses under the hood but the 5 spd and the tight handling do make it a fun drive. Great in the snow. Id buy another one but dont want to give this up!

Safe, Dependable and fun - 2004 Subaru Legacy
By Froggy - June 15 - 1:53 amI agree with the others that the auto trans could be better.A 5 or 6 speed would improve economy (I get 25 overall) and acceleration. Reliability wise, I have over 90,000 on it and I have had only one out of pocket repair. It is still tight as a drum. My friends Hondas and Toyotas have been more problematic, in fact they all love my subie. I think many people just dont give Subaru a look before going to Honda or Toyota. This is my third Subaru and I dont see where the others are any more reliable or better made.

Problems after 55,000 miles - 2004 Subaru Legacy
By PeggyR - December 11 - 4:10 amI also had problems after 50,000 miles and just want to get rid of it. I also owned a 1995 Subaru before and it never gave me any troubles. My head gasket is cracked, have had transmission problems almost immediately and their is always something wrong with this car. It is sad because I used to trust Subaru as a quality car. It costs almost as much as a BMW to repair, so why not quality.
