Awsome Bad Weather Commuter - 2010 Subaru Forester
By NY12549 - February 14 - 11:36 amMy 3rd Subaru, 1st Forester. Did the research..again.. and still cant find a reasonably priced vehicle that can beat Subaru for quality and AWD. Considered CR-V, RAV4, Element & Rogue, none compare to Subaru AWD system. Purchased for 140 mi round trip commuting from far northern burbs to NYC. Drove in the recent 2010 storm known as the "snowicane" on some stretches of 10" unplowed snow highway and back roads and it almost felt like I was on a dry track. Put many 4wd trucks that were in ditches to shame. Even climbed an unplowed steep hill that a Nissan Rogue had to retreat from. Currently have 5500 miles. 28 MPG hwy @ 70 - 80 MPH, 25 MPG overall in mixed town/hwy.

Very Happy XT!!!!! - 2010 Subaru Forester
By korgtx - February 1 - 4:56 pmPurchased end of July. Just reached 2,200 miles and first trip. My MPG numbers were as advertised. Great handling around town or on trip, have not been off road yet! Moon roof is huge, built very solid, no creeks or rattles yet! Great styling, right size for me, also very good turning circle for tight driveways and such. On test drive Turbo brought an instant smile to my face (first Turbo Ive driven), plenty of power and solid handling on rough back roads. Im very pleased with my purchase.

Were so happy - 2010 Subaru Forester
By Jeff - November 21 - 9:50 amWith our new White satin Pearl Forester ltd. Have had one month now and very pleased. Ride is "tight". Car seems solid. No rattles ( I was a little concerned about this after reading reviews before we purchased-but so far so good). 4 speed trans is better than expected as "sport shift" mode makes for crisp shifting and even in normal "drive " position the spacing between the gears is such that the final rpm at highway speed is not too much higher than a 5 speed might be.

Awesome Ride - 2010 Subaru Forester
By Sean - October 29 - 10:00 amTraded in my 2004 Impreza RS for a 2010 XT Limited. This thing handles like a dream. The ride is great, very smooth, great pick up. The stock turbo isnt too bad, would be nice to have WRX type power though. I like the interior and the cargo room, its great for the kids aka dogs. It would be nice to have a better stock stereo, (like the Harmon Kardon in the Outback LTD) I did purchase a Limited edition after all. iPod interface would be nice as well as opposed to just AUX jack. I love the monster sized moon roof, the

Perfect For Me - 2010 Subaru Forester
By PApassenger - October 12 - 5:43 pmI drove an Audi A6 so I was used to lots of amenities. I used edmunds.com to narrow my search to 5 medium SUVs. The trend in body styles seems to be lots of body in the back with a small window...looks good from the outside but feels claustrophobic inside and isnt helpful when youre trying to back up or merge onto a highway. That put the Rogue and Tucson lower on my list. I test drove the CR-V - nice. I left the RAV 4 till last - I expected to drive it home. But when I drove the Forester, I was impressed at how comfortable and spacious it was. The RAV 4 interior looks cheap by comparison. I bought the Subaru and drove it 2000 miles so far, including a trip to Canada. I still love it.

Battle tested - 2010 Subaru Forester
By dayunski - July 19 - 8:00 pmAfter breaking-in 3 weeks after purchase, I embarked in a 12-day road trip w/my wife from corona, ca to lubec, me racking 7,066 miles. Handling was responsive & superb, performed well on overtakes, freeway mileage varied on terrain & speed but the best was 30 mpg @ 70 mph on a flat road, felt safe on many hours driving in the rain and spacious enough for our cargo. Got home safely and can declare my subie passed with flying colors!

Rattle solution - 2010 Subaru Forester
By Dr.Trout - July 15 - 10:16 pmImmediately after purchase, my Forrester performed wonderfully at all speeds on an 1800 mile road trip and with better than advertised mileage. On a dirt road, I got carried away and came face to face with another vehicle on a sharp turn in sand with no way to stop in time. Took a very high bobsled bank on the right in sand and swooned down before my wifes heart had a chance to skip a beat. 2 weeks later a sudden rattle occurred on my way to work. In had put the plates on the night before. The rear one came with only 2 screws. Put 2 more in the bottom holes and presto, no rattle.

Subie Newbie - Part 1 (At 2,500 miles) - 2010 Subaru Forester
By Pat from New Jersey - July 1 - 12:40 amBefore buying the 2010 Subaru Forester I considered the V6 RAV4 (also own CRV). The boxer engine and AWD won. The turbo engine was impressive, but lost out to non-turbo (requires premium fuel and loses 1-2 mpg in fuel economy). This vehicle is very spartan even in top Limited trim so dont expect a luxurious interior (the CRV has a much better interior). Be aware of the following: the PZEV engine is very rough during morning starts (but this is normal) and lots of interior plastic that rattles/buzzes. Otherwise its been a good car. If you expect a good reliable car that can drive in any weather you shouldnt be disappointed. If you expect luxury you will be disappointed. Part 2 soon...

My first Subie !!! - 2010 Subaru Forester
By Dave Ostrowski - June 29 - 11:53 pmAfter owning 2 Fords (a 1996 Ranger and a 2002 Explorer, both having tranny issues), I finally bought the car I have longed for- a Subaru Forester. While its taking a little time to get used to driving a lower profile vehicle, I cannot say enough about how impressed I am with the power, room, gas mileage and handling of this X- over. Its gonna be a great vehicle for our Buffalo, NY winters and should get its first real test later today, since we have a winter storm warning for the area. I have several friends with Subies and they all seem to have gotten long term mileage out of their vehicles. Reliability and safety were two of the things that attracted me to the Subaru brand.
