Satisfied Multiple Forester Owner - 2005 Subaru Forester
By Norman Griffin - May 5 - 6:20 amThe Subaru Forester is one of the best Vehicles that I have ever owned. We bought our first Forester in Sept 1997 a new 98 model. In October we went to Maine to visit friends, We had a very comfortable trip from PA. It snowed 8" and the Forester was a pleasure to drive in snow. I drive 65 miles each way to work and since 1997 our Forester got me there every day. That Forester now has 195,000 miles on it and when we decided we needed new car for my 130 mile commute there was no thinking about it - off we went to our Subaru dealer and drove home with a new 2.5XS. The original Forester is the L version and now it takes my wife on her daily commute of 5 miles. It feels good in the snow she says.

Second Forester - 2005 Subaru Forester
By Phil - April 27 - 9:46 amHad a 2000 Forester and replaced it with the 2005 after looking at CRV, RAV4 and Sportage. Though few visible changes, I can see great improvements over the 2000 model in mileage, acceleration and interior trim. This is my third Subaru and they cant be beat for cold climates.

The Best Small SUV - 2005 Subaru Forester
By Bob - March 13 - 9:43 pmThis is hands down the best small SUV available on the market today. Great performance and excellent MPG for an AWD vehicle. Drove all of the competitors extensively and NONE of them comes close to the quality/features/performance and bang for the buck of the Forester. Feels extremely safe and secure on the road, yet is very fun to drive and a pleasure to ride in. I have owned many vehicles, and this is by far my favorite.

Going Up - 2005 Subaru Forester
By QuickTM - February 18 - 11:06 amI have a cabin in the mountains, and I need AWD for the winter. I recently went up for the weekend only to see Cars coming down the mountian with their flashers on (because of snow) however my little subie handled perfectly with out a slip. I thought I would be getting better gas mileage than I am, only getting about 26-28 on the highway (must be my lead foot). There is nothing bad about the car that relatively cheap aftermarket gear cant fix --talking about shifter knobs and tint not expensive body kits.

a great suvon "suv wagon" - 2005 Subaru Forester
By letsgoyankees - February 17 - 2:23 pmA very fun car to drive. Great performance on wet and dry roads once you get a set of good tires on. Gas milage is not that bad for the amount of power you get. Great visibality for merging into traffic.

Fantastic Forester! - 2005 Subaru Forester
By BaldBabs - January 27 - 10:00 amLove this vehicle!!!! Its very comfortable and handles great. Ive never had one problem with it ever!! I only wish it got a bit better gas milage but Im happy to spend a little more on gas and have All Wheel Drive. I used to clutch the steering wheel in wet weather but now I feel completely safe and in control. Love the Subaru and the support staff is knowledgable and friendly.

New Subaru Owner - 2005 Subaru Forester
By ICW - January 15 - 5:00 pmJust got an automatic 2005 XT turbo Forester last week. Took it on a trip to New York city for Memorial Day weekend from PA (approximately 350 mile round trip). We love everything about this car so far! We were looking for a car with more cargo space than our two compact sedans, but were not interested in a large SUV or minivan. We have a 1 1/2 year old baby and what initially attracted us to Forester was its high safety rating by Consumer Report. We also are looking for a AWD or 4WD for the winter. After looking at various small SUV and wagons (Honda CRV, Toyota RAV 4, etc) we decided to go with Subaru based on many positive reviews. I personally love the extra power turbo provides.

Worthy Audi successor - 2005 Subaru Forester
By Phil C - November 3 - 10:06 am"El Coche Frijol" (The Beanmobile!) replaced our Audi A4q V6 and in 3 months has won our hearts! With its comfortable interior, creature comforts, HUGE sunroof, excellent handling and good gas mileage (the Audi was terrible!) it is hard to beat. We wanted a comfortable, well appointed and nimble AWD car without a premium price tag and it delivers in spades. The combination of the White/Platinum exterior and light tan/beige leather looks very sharp and makes it a good "hot climate" vehicle. Important as we live in Texas!

Great Car - 2005 Subaru Forester
By Louis C. - September 18 - 5:36 amIve had three Subarus and this has to be the best overall package. Not that Ive had any problems with the others, but the Forester has its advantages. Ground clearance being one of the strong points along with handling. You feel really safe and in control. Good brakes, good power and very reliable. This car is underrated.

Bad mileage! - 2005 Subaru Forester
By Elizabeth - August 22 - 6:46 amI have had this car only two months and the mileage is very bad. It is lucky if it gets the 22 mph and it plummets from there if the air conditioner is used. Also, it hesitates on take off, leaving me waiting for VERY clear intersections before accelerating. Im told it might be better when it is more broken in. Too late. I wish I had gotten another Honda.
