Other changes include a new color for the Forester S' lower body cladding (from Titanium Pearl to Graystone Metallic) and the option of leather seating for S models equipped with the Premium package and automatic transmission.

My fan-freeking-tastic Subaru Forester L - 2002 Subaru Forester
By goldencouple1 - September 29 - 10:00 amGreat in the snow. Great in the mountains. Great in the desert. Fun in town. Comfortable on the Interstate. Nimble, quick, fun. Linked S-curves, up and down hills. Just perfect.

no complaints here - 2002 Subaru Forester
By shell1006 - May 18 - 2:36 pmWhat a fun car to drive! I thought I wouldnt like anything as much as my Camry wagon, but the AWD is reassuring and a plus to have. Subarus rank up there with Toyotas and Hondas now; standard AWD is added bonus and durable.

Still Going Strong - 2002 Subaru Forester
By Marks - September 2 - 2:00 amThis Forester has been in daily use since we bought it new. It has had very few problems. Replacing the catalytic converter was the only signficant item so far. We also had to replace the CD player module when it started eating disks and keeping them! I was impressed that Subaru voluntarily replaced all the engine gaskets at no cost after some head gasket seepage was noted during dealer service. I for one like the placement of the cupholder, even though it puts your cup in front of the air distribution control knob. The cup is ergonomically in a good position -- up high and easy to reach. The holder looks flimsy, but it hasnt broken. A great little vehicle, easily the best I have owned.

Fun Car - 2002 Subaru Forester
By stacecz - August 6 - 10:00 amI love my Subaru. The Forester has been extremely useful and reliable in tackling the Colorado winters and mountains. My husband and I also use the car to haul materials to remodel our home. Many of the design complaints (location of cupholder, no keyless, etc) have been remedied in the 2003 model.

Best Vehicle I ever had - 2002 Subaru Forester
By Michael - April 9 - 10:10 amI bought it from the dealer in 2002, havent been back to that dealership for any work. I just put gas in it, change the oil and air filters. Gets awesome gas mileage, awesome performance, great at towing, does just fine at off-road and I feel safe in it when racing along with traffic. I towed 6,500 lbs of trailer from NH to TN (1300 miles) with no problems getting up hills or accelerating down the Interstate. Vehicle has been the best one Ive ever had. Previous vehicles were 2000 Toyota Camry, 1998 Kia Sportage, and 1986 Volkswagen Jetta. None were close as good as this vehicle has been to me.

Forester is Fabulous! - 2002 Subaru Forester
By Kristy - January 25 - 8:56 amAfter test driving a 2002 Forester, I fell in love with it. The HUGE sunroof and big windows give a great open feel. I have the 5 speed S Premium and I love it. The car is very comfortable with many drivers seat lumbar adjustments and heated seats. The look, the feel, the whole package is great! I highly recommend the Subaru Forester.
