Overview & Reviews
A new 3.5-liter V6 replaces the previous 3.0-liter unit. Larger 17-inch wheels and tires are now standard on the V6 AWD model and optional on the front-wheel-drive version. Antilock brakes are standard on all V6 models. The interior has been upgraded to reduce noise and now incorporates metallic and leather trim. The front seats now have seatbelt pre-tensioners and dual-stage front airbags. New entertainment choices include MP3-compatible CD players, satellite radio and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system (late availability).
- Strong V6, large doors ease entry/exit, spacious cabin, comfortable ride, excellent crash test scores, good fuel economy.
- Bland interior, low-grade plastics, inconsistent build quality, noisy four-cylinder, vague steering.

Transmission Troubles - 2004 Saturn VUE
By G. Blake - March 15 - 11:33 pmI purchased a 2004 Saturn Vue used in Oct. 2007 and in July 2009 the Transmission in the car went without any warning signs. I have kept up the maintenance on this vehicle since the purchase date and I am now having trouble with the extended warranty company and the Lease holder in repairing the vehicle.

Great looks, bad deal - 2004 Saturn VUE
By Thwarted Saturnite - October 1 - 10:00 amThe appearance of the VUE is very nice, but dont let that fool you. There are too many "bugs" in this car that have not been addressed by Saturn. Ive had this car almost 2 years and Ive had "Warranty" repairs at least 20 times. Perhaps my vehicle is a lemon, but others that Ive test driven havent been much better. These vehicles have a front end problem that causes squeaking and rattling. Most drivers have said that it feels as if the front end is about to collapse. Overall the ride is not smooth, it feels like a old pickup. The factory radio system is below average. Reception is horrible. The air conditioner blower does not reach the back seat

Last GM junk that I buy - 2004 Saturn VUE
By Greg R. Hess - August 29 - 6:16 pmI purchased this nice looking suv with high hopes. Only to be disappointed once again by GM. This will be the last time I get burned by them. I have replaced a front left hub-wheel bearing that cost $455 and ever since 48,000 miles there has been a rumbling noise from under the hood and under neath the center of the suv. The dealership mechanic says that there are nothing mechanical to explain these noises! So I guess I have to be satisfied with paying $30,000 and having a problematic car. Unbelieveable! The big three wonder why the public is switching over to imports. They have lousy warranties, until of late but I bet theres a lot of red tape one goes through to have anything done!

Quality Powertrain vs Junky Parts - 2004 Saturn VUE
By Carl St. Henry - May 7 - 2:00 pmI really liked the matched Honda engine, transmission, and rear axle that came with my 2004 VUE. Had many quality issues. Rear wiper motor. Front headlight assembly. Remote keyless entry. Instrument cluster RPM guage lights on half went out. Dealer wanted over $200.00 to just look at the problem. Rear suspension recall. Front wheel bearing had to be replaced The car is very peppy and drives well.

My 2nd VUE - 2004 Saturn VUE
By Mike - October 6 - 11:56 amI had a 02 VUE that was in the shop on once a month on average for the 2 yrs I owned it. I traded it for the 04 thinking I would get the best break on a trade and hoping Saturn had improved the build quality. I was mistaken. I have had the 4 cyl. ecotec engines with the 5 speed manual tranny. It is one of the easiest manuals I have driven in 25 yrs. The engine has plenty of pep if youre not afraid to rev it up. But at 70mph it revs around 3200 which is not optimal for mileage. Problems: window leaks, sunroof broke, engine leaks, Air conditioning replaced (3X), Cruise kept sticking in ON position (4X) Front suspension arms replaced (2X) Other misc. problems Cant wait til I can trade in on an import
