A new 3.5-liter V6 replaces the previous 3.0-liter unit. Larger 17-inch wheels and tires are now standard on the V6 AWD model and optional on the front-wheel-drive version. Antilock brakes are standard on all V6 models. The interior has been upgraded to reduce noise and now incorporates metallic and leather trim. The front seats now have seatbelt pre-tensioners and dual-stage front airbags. New entertainment choices include MP3-compatible CD players, satellite radio and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system (late availability).

2004 Saturn Vue - 2004 Saturn VUE
By Disappointed - March 12 - 10:06 pmThis is my first Saturn. Bought it 1 year ago when it had about 83,000 KM. It now has 90,000 KM. It has always had a noisy engine. Recently the check engine light came on and I brought it to the shop. A wheel bearing was shot - had to be replaced. Cost $300. Then it started making a strange noise and jerking when I drove. Back to the shop. The transmission is shot. They researched the vehicles history and found out it has already had the transmission replaced at 80,000 KM, and this will be its second transmission replacement. It was going to cost $6,000 for a new transmission, luckily the dealership agreed to pay for it, even though we had no extended warranty on the Vue.

By addicted2mickey - August 22 - 9:03 pmIve owned my VUE for 14 months and plan to get rid of her ASAP. Ive been a loyal Saturn owner for 10 years but I think thats coming to its end. Read other owners reviews and youll see this model is plagued with problems beyond 40,000 miles (conveniently just after the warranty expires). The high ratings and good reviews are mainly before the 40,000 mile mark. The vinyl on the dashboard has been flaking and currently she is just sitting in my parking spot undrivable. It started as an occasional thumping under the hood and has progressed to a blinking check engine light and no acceleration. No one knows whats wrong. Parts and labor are extremely expensive for a Saturn. Buy something else.

Honda Engine great, Rest of car JUNK!! - 2004 Saturn VUE
By rugby209 - April 5 - 10:30 pmIve had 3 Saturns, this one being the most recent and this will be the last time I buy Saturns again. I originally looked at the reviews and everyone said it was a great SUV with a Honda engine and transmission. The reviews were right about the transmission and engine but everything else is flawed. Its been in the shop 11 times since weve owned it. Steering column broke, left front ABS sensor broke, when its cold out it makes horrible grinding noise when you hit bumps (which the dealer said was normal), hazard light fell into dash etc, etc. I should have bought a REAL Honda.

I hate my Saturn VUE! - 2004 Saturn VUE
By Rachel Pena - October 11 - 6:46 pmI have been in and out of the Saturn dealerships for service, and have been in touch with the corporate office numerous times to make complaints. My SUV isnt even two years old yet and is falling apart! I am not hard on my car and do not feel that it is normal for a vehicle to fall apart like this VUE has. The plastic that it is made of is a poor quality. The door panel falls off with temperature changes. The center console falls out of place. The doors shift. The service dept at dealer level and at corp level say that this is what the warranty is for, but I feel that I should not have to take my time to bring it in for warranty work on a monthly basis. They do not stand behind the product

Not A Satisfied Vue Owner - 2004 Saturn VUE
By Tawanda - May 8 - 10:00 amInterior quality stinks. Rattles all over the place,most of which cant be fixed according to the shop. Drivers seat (leather, heated) is the most uncomfortable thing I have ever sat on. My back hurts all the time. This will definitely be my first and only Saturn product. Once I left the showroom with my car the only thing the salesman worried about was that I give him a good rating. Havent heard from him since and he knows I am having major problems.

Think Twice, and then some - 2004 Saturn VUE
By chrisfromri - March 3 - 10:33 pmWeve had constant problems with the all wheel drive system. Subsequent repairs. Some twice. Stripped out bolts in door, causing window failure. Car starting problems. Thousand dollar stereo system, main unit replaced. Blown speaker. Plenty of squeaks and rattles. Leather interior is nice, but short, cheap plastic arm rests. We have a file folder full of repairs from 8 months of ownership. Saturn co. and the dealership feel badly. But will not buy back or swap. They feel as long as we have a warranty we can just keep using it.

I think its a Lemon - 2004 Saturn VUE
By Jennifer Peggs - September 12 - 10:00 am8 repairs on struts, bearings, and suspension in general, back drivers side window motor broke in under a year of use, now fuel sensor is broken. I bought this car when I was pregnant so that my child would be safe. I just dont know if I have enough gas to get home now. That safe. I made a 20,000 mistake and will pay for it until I can trade it in,which I have tried and have been unsucessful. Regrettably I am a Saturn Vue owner.
