A new 3.5-liter V6 replaces the previous 3.0-liter unit. Larger 17-inch wheels and tires are now standard on the V6 AWD model and optional on the front-wheel-drive version. Antilock brakes are standard on all V6 models. The interior has been upgraded to reduce noise and now incorporates metallic and leather trim. The front seats now have seatbelt pre-tensioners and dual-stage front airbags. New entertainment choices include MP3-compatible CD players, satellite radio and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system (late availability).

• Bland interior, low-grade plastics, inconsistent build quality, noisy four-cylinder, vague steering.

  This is my 3rd Saturn, My first an 1995 SL1, my 2nd a 2002 SC1 and now my 2004 Vue. I couldnt be happier. I love Saturn vehicles, well rounded reliable. Next car definatly a Saturn.

  This is an awesome vehicle! Im a diehard Honda lover, so when looking for a small SUV, really wanted a Honda, but they dont offer the bells and whistles on the CRV that I wanted. Looked at the Vue because of the Honda package and loved it after driving it! The best part has been the dealership; absolutely the best experience Ive ever had for buying and for service. I just may be a Saturn lifer!

  The VUE has gotten up my drive with no proble through every snow this season. I fell very safe in the Vue and even when going up my very very steep drive I feel very safe with no worry of tipping etc.

  Luv the car. Bought it to tow behind RV. Tows really nice. No hassle. The 3.5 engine really has PEP! Not a real Saturn fan until I drove Vue. 25-26 mpg. Not bad with fuel prices rising. Considering Ion for next Commuter Beater.

  I never even considered purchasing a Saturn until I saw one during a car show at a local shopping mall. After being able to see the inside, and what options were available, we went to our dealership. Ive never had a more pleasant experience with purchasing a car. And Ive never owned a vehicle that I love driving more than my Vue. I got a great deal, not just on the purchase price, but on the quality of my vehicle.

  The Vue is fun to drive, it handles great. The front seats are comfortable and there is lots of room inside. It could have a little less plastic inside but it is laid out good. Would also like to see a strap to pull down the rear door with. I would buy the vue again based on this experience.

  Fast fuel efficient SUV - 2004 Saturn VUE

  Reliability and performance from the Acura/MDX sourced 3.5 liter engine. Space for 5 and a dog in the rear. Somewhat sparse and functional interior and less than supportive seats. Cargo hatch has no key lock and can only be opened with the remote. Cargo hatch has no separate partition/opening for glass section of hatch door. Novel Saturn dealership experience with serenading salesman welcoming the couple in front of us to the Saturn fold with a company song. Saturnfans forum (Saturn owner’s forum) might be a good resource to see what if any official and unofficial rebates are available.

  My daughter, who lives in Austin,Texas, bought a new VUE and we were introduced to it in this way when she came to see us in Dallas. Test drove a new one after she left and was really impressed with the car. Looked at several other cars/SUVs and went back to the Saturn and wrote him a check for the VUE that we wanted and have just been very pleased with it. Period!
