  • Great Car. Very Poor Mileage - 2007 Saturn Aura
    By -

I did a review right after we had bought this car. Basically, it said that the car was great. Now that I have had the car for over a month, I am revisiting my review. The mileage on this car stinks. In city drive (basically home to grocery storer, etc.), the car gives 17 miles to a gallon. That is less than the 10 year old Mercedes E320 that I had (18 miles to a gallon) and less than the 10 year old Toyota 4 Runner that I have (18 miles/gallon for a V6). I dont know what GM is thinking, making a supposedly state of the art car with a mileage less than current day SUVs. I guess one reason is that the car weighs a bunch (it is heavier than the Toyota 4 Runner and almost the same as an E320)

  • Aura XE a winner - 2007 Saturn Aura

Purchased my Aura in February and so far Im very satisfied. Great styling and performance. Many people have remarked on the great looks and are surprised when they discover its a Saturn. A geat amount of equipment at an affordable price. I think Saturn and GM have a definite winner.

  • Kudos to Saturn - 2007 Saturn Aura

We love this car. The Morrocan leather highlights this quiet, taut, responsive This car is a fire breather. Previous cars included Pontiac, VW, Nissan, Toyota, Chevy, and Mercury. Nothing comes close to this marvel. As someone who wouldnt have considered a Saturn in the past, the Aura has changed everything. Most of our driving is freeway and the mpg is surprising and excellent - significantly better than the advertized (28/20)- with the cruise on.

I originally purchased an XE at the beginning of the month. I loved the car so much I wanted more. So, I used Saturns exchange program and got the XR with leather seats. The XE is quiter and shifts smoother. The XR is quicker and sportier. I had cloth seats on the XE. The leather seats on the XR are much more comfortable. If you want a quiet, smooth, luxurious feel, the XE with leather seats is your car. If you want a sportier feel and the ultimate driving experience, go for the XR. I have owned at least a dozen cars. This car is by far the best car Ive have owned for driving experience.

  • Style, Comfort, and Fun to Drive. - 2007 Saturn Aura

This is not the typical Saturn. The handling is superb, the ride is a little bumpy with the sports package suspension. Wind and road noise is at a minimum. The four way stability track with four wheel anti-lock disc brakes makes a difference on slippery roads. With the adjustable pedals and 8-way adjustable power seats makes for finding the comfortable position easy. Just wish it had a memory setting on the drivers seat for multiple drivers. For fun you can put the car into manual and shift thru the six gears via the paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel. If you are looking for a midsized 4-door sedan, do yourself a favor and test drive this car. Good to have choices!

  • GM in control again. - 2007 Saturn Aura

Thus far I have owned a total of 17 new vehicles in my 56 year lifetime, 12 of which were foreign including VW, Subaru, Honda, Mazda(1 ford engine), and Isuzu. I have owned 2 Saturns. The first one a VUE V6 SUV which I purchased because of the Honda engine. The second is my Aura which I just purchased. Unlike the VUE it is all American which makes me very happy knowing that I finally found a domestic vehicle that is up to par with the foreign competion.

  • This Is My 4th Saturn... - 2007 Saturn Aura

This car has a nice road presence, fun to drive... I wish that my 1st (92 SC2) had the power of this 3.6L! The Formula-1 paddle shifters are nice when in a sporty mood; I believe this is the same 6-speed transmission used in some BMWs (for those who didnt know- BMW does get 1 of its 3 trans. models from GM). The Goodyear Eagle LS-2 tires (OEM) handle well enough. Once accustomed to the Understeer (all FWDs have it, RWDs have Oversteer), winding roads are fun, too. Bred from GMs German Car Group (Opel), its a nice follow-up to the L300. Saturn Service Depts. treat me like a king. Ive owned Fords, Chevys, 1 Dodge, 1 VW... Ive been driving for over 30 yrs.

  • Camry Killer - 2007 Saturn Aura

I fell in love with the Aura as soon as I saw one on the road. It has a very european finish on its exterior and that caught my eye immediately. I am bored looking at the Japanese sedans on the roads and Aura was a welcome. I got my XE way b4 it won the car of the year award at the auto-show and I was proven right. The car perform very well - particularly on the highways. It is fun to drive and the engine seems to always have some juice left in it no matter what speed you are driving at. Ask a Camry to beat that. Road noise is minimal, and the car steers beautifully on curvy interstate roads. I enjoy my drives on the open road and have clocked 17k miles in 9 months without a whimper. Go Aura.

  • I love my Saturn except - 2007 Saturn Aura

I purchased my Saturn 3 years ago and still love it. My Saturn is the fully loaded XR Bronze XR model and I have been stopped by strangers admiring the style of this vehicle. Ive kept the mileage low and average 20 mpg city driving. Only complaint is recently the ESC service light activates at the slightest stop which causes the brake lights to stay on. Took it in for servicing which lasted less than a month and it is coming on again. I am hoping that this will not be a on going problem.

  • Former CTS owner. - 2007 Saturn Aura

Thought I would never get anything but another CTS when my lease ran out, not so. Checked out the Camry,Fusion, Mazda6 and the Passat, the Aura XE had just about everything we wanted. We had to go with the XE due to the need for a lower payment. The XR would destroy all other rivals in almost all comparisons including the CTS. What a nice sedan at a great price. Quick and responsive with a real nice ride.
