This Year's Model Updates:

The 2009 Pontiac G8 receives standard XM Satellite Radio across the board, and the high-performance G8 GXP makes its debut, featuring a detuned version of the Corvette's V8 along with a sportier suspension and an optional manual transmission. Also, the dorky Atari-style oil/battery gauges atop the center stack have been removed.

Pros:
  • Sharp handling, firm but compliant ride, muscle-car power with either V8, spacious rear seat, sets a new Pontiac standard for interior design and quality.

My parents got me a G8 for my 16th birthday going on 2 years ago. My parents love it because of all the safety features but I love the way it looks. We have not had any trouble with it at all. I am very happy they chose this car!

Fiance ended up pregnant and owned a 96 Chevy Pickup, so had to get something more family friendly. The second i saw this car i knew i had to have it, then saw the price and knew i could have it. Every time i drive it i hope someone will test it, suprisingly no takers after 4 months. First day i bought the car it was raining and took my neighbor for a ride, stomped on it every chance i got in sport mode and regular mode, not one slip from the tires with traction control on.

Have had the G8 for over 2 months and have about 4000 miles on it. The power is awesome and was great driving in the mountains of Georgia. It is a fantastic car for the cost. I would tell anyone to test drive it and I know they will love it.

After tiring of driving my wifes CR-V to work, I needed something a little more sportier when the weather didnt cooperate with my motorcycling. We needed four doors and we didnt want to break the bank. I stumbled upon this Pontiac, and what luck! The only con I see to this G8 is the cup holders in the front. They sit too far back. There are no cup holders in rear of the cabin which is inconvenient. And a lack of a navigation system is disappointing. However, that all melts away when you smash down the accelerator. All in all, Im very pleased with our purchase and hope that we spent $25K on a great product.

Very nice interior and exterior styling with good fit and finish inside and out. Powerful engine with great V8 sound track and smooth power delivery. Wonderful driving dynamics. Very comfortable heated seats, nice interior materials, great sound system. Averaging 19 MPG in cold & snowy conditions with snow tires.

This car is a complete joy to drive. This is my first true sports sedan and I love it. So far I have received multiple unsolicited compliments driving this car around town. Fun and practical. The back seat and trunk are bigger than my last vehicle, 2006 Buick LaCrosse CXS.

  • Great sports car with room inside - 2009 Pontiac G8

2009 G8 GT owned 2 months 19K miles 6 tall 250 lbs male (me) This a great sports car. I bought it after buying and then having to sell an Audi S4 (I cant use a manual due to a bad knee). The G8 is very fast and has a great automatic transmission. The seats are great and the interior is large enough for adult people who are larger than a size medium, unlike most sporty cars. Factory autostart has a range of about 25 feet line of sight. This car would be perfect if it had 2 inches more ground clearance, AWD, and better visiblity.

Purchased 3 weeks ago and spent last week in the shop. Initially told the fuel pump was bad. Dealer ordered fuel pump. Now we find out there are 2 fuel pumps and another is on order. Looks like I will have spent 1/2 of my ownership in the shop. The car isnt even tagged yet! Hope I dont have a lemon...

Purchased new 09 of 2008, after 64 months of ownership, this vehicle has been nearly perfect. We only drive it 2 or 3 times a month. Averaging 20.8 mpg over the last 3800 miles of mixed driving. Current mileage is 23,600 mi. of old folks driving (treat it like we paid for it).Over our adult life we have owned 30+ new vehicles, & 10+ used. From Acura to VW, including a few hp & luxury types.maybe it was just good luck but the gt does everything very well.I have read the first drives of the new chevy ss, & it sounds like an excellent car, but the msrp is nearly 47k with the fuel usage tax penalty.I will keep the gt thank you.
