Overview & Reviews
For 2006, a new entry-level X model debuts, and the Power package is now standard on the S trim. All models get a lighted locking glovebox.
- One of the most powerful V6s in the class, above average off-road capability, solid passenger room, innovative cargo features.
- Still not what we would call refined on the street, lots of hard plastic in the cabin.

Great SUV for the money - 2006 Nissan Xterra
By Kenny - December 7 - 7:33 amBought the truck used in 08 with and have put over 40K miles and still runs great. Use it for work reading meters and yet to get stuck or break down on me. Paint is chipping around windshield but other than that no defects. Plastic is nice inside cleans very easily. Awesome dependability!

Love my Exterra - 2006 Nissan Xterra
By Mike from Boynton - September 28 - 8:36 amThis SUV is made to be driven and takes abuse. Tailgating is fun and we dont have to worry about the interior its made to get dirty. If you take care of the truck it will last a long time. Lots of engine. I already have 52000 miles on it and it still looks like new.

Great SUV - 2006 Nissan Xterra
By luvmyX - February 19 - 8:30 amI have usually owned trucks, but I thought I would like the versatility of an SUV and I was right. I could not be happier. It comfortably accomodates my family of four plus whatever gear we need to carry. The gas mileage is about what I expected, better than the fullsize, but still pretty decent for the amount of performance you get out of the 4.0 V6.

Best Choice for a First, New SUV - 2006 Nissan Xterra
By acegear - January 26 - 2:00 amI previously drove a used 02 Jetta. Likeing the handle of the road I had in mind a small SUV. My brand-new Xterra is everything but small yet not an overkill on sight and cost. Its a great transition to an SUV. Great quality, smooth appearance yet intimidating. Ease of performance and functionality. Best investment Ive ever made. - 22 Tx
