This Year's Model Updates:

For the 2006 Nissan Titan, SE crew cabs can be ordered with a sunroof, and the LE trim now comes with two new features: standard dual-zone climate control and upgraded side mirrors that have heat, power-fold, auto-dimming and turn signal capability. Other updates for the Nissan truck include MP3-compatible audio systems and a change to allow the stability control system to be ordered with the locking rear differential.

Pros:
  • One of the best drivetrains in its class, smooth-riding suspension, spacious and functional cabin, innovative design features, available stability control and side airbags.
Cons:
  • Limited drivetrain and body style choices, no heavy-duty models, burly exhaust note can get annoying on long drives.

  • Titan is a Winner! - 2006 Nissan Titan

I test drove the Chevy Avalanche and then the Nissan Titan. The Titan was roomier by far. It also had exceptional pricing and the buyer receives a lot of quality options at a very good price. MPG was within .5 of rated for both City and Highway. The only option not offered was a hard tonneau cover and outside cab roof lights.

  • saw it, wanted it, got it, LOVE IT! - 2006 Nissan Titan

Absolutely LOVE my new truck. Out of 100, I would say I am 99.9% happy. I wish Nissan could do a V-8 with better fuel economy! I love the spacious interior, big engine, overall exterior design, and the bed tracking system. I was deciding between a Chevy 1500 and I couldnt be happier w/ my decision.

Coming straight from an 01 F150 supercrew with the 5.4L Titan, there is no comparison! Hands down this truck is the pinnacle of power, acceleration and comfort. I quickly found that people who only get 12~16 mpg are heavy on the throttle! Its got power, but jumping into that power from a stand still is costly. Its fun to drive because of the power.. but if you use that power (all the time), youll pay for it at the pump. With normal driving, I can average 17~19.5 mpg. Hey..its a truck. If I wanted 30 mpg, I would have purchased a car. This truck is a solid performer and I love it.

  • 6 month review. - 2006 Nissan Titan

Most people review a vehicle right after they buy it. I decided to wait until 6 month time period. I have 9,000 miles on her. Absolutely love it. Gas is what I expected, high 15 average. This truck has plenty of power to spare, head-turning good looks, and the ride is great. It has to be the most comfortable vehicle for long trips. I regularly pull a 5,500lb boat that you cant even tell is there. Ive only had to see the dealer once and that was for a tire rotation and a passenger seat squeak. Other than that this truck has been solid, reliable and everything that I expected when I bought it. Thanks to edmunds I got a great deal on it. Sticker 33,6 bought 27,7 after TMV + rebates

  • Best In Class - 2006 Nissan Titan

I love this truck. The only complaint I have is of course the fuel economy, but it is par for all other full size trucks with a 8 cylinder motor. It has more than enough power, and the comfort is amazing. The standard motor is a top of the line upgrade for most truck makers. I used to be a diehard Dodge fan, but I couldnt go back to that after driving a Titan.

  • Nissan Titan - great for towing - 2006 Nissan Titan
    By -

Im not a truck fan, but I needed a full-size truck for towing a 33 travel trailer, to provide family of four transportation, and flexible hauling. I discovered the Titan is a power-house thats enjoyable to drive to/from work and haul the family around town. The down side is poor fuel economy. Im a conservative driver, yet my in-town milage ranges from 11 to 12 mpg. Towing a 7500 LB travel trailer is easy for this truck, even in the Rocky mountains. When towing the 7500 LB TT, milage ranges from 5 mpg (75 mph uphill) to 8 mpg (60 mph flat terrain).

  • Close to Perfect Truck - 2006 Nissan Titan

Simply stated, the Titan towers above the others. I have never owned a Japanese car. I have driven Chevy and Ford trucks for decades. I qualify for the Ford A-plan, which would have made an F-150 thousands less. The Titan has more power, better fuel economy, more room, nicer styling, better comfort, and more functionality than all of the competition. My prior truck, an F-150 V-6, would average about 14 MPG regardless of where I drove. I just returned from a 500 mile weekend trip with plenty of foothills, stop-and-go, and freeway driving; 3/4 tank for the whole trip with 18.55 MPG... WOW! I did a lot of research before buying. I believe the Titan is the most well- tought-out truck ever built!

  • Great truck....Go Nissan! - 2006 Nissan Titan
    By -

Makes a great work truck, and has a very comfortable ride. With 31,000 miles in 10 months, this rig is taking a beating. I recommend this truck to anyone who wants to have a lot of fun driving a very tough rig many thousands of miles. Heres to hoping I make it to 175,000mi w/out any major issues. :) PS...The brake replacement from Nissan is working nicely.
