Overview & Reviews
For 2003, there is a new 2.5 Limited Edition trim, which includes GXE front fascia styling, the 165-horsepower QR25 4-cylinder engine, standard automatic transmission, standard Antilock Braking System (ABS) and side-impact supplemental airbags. The Sentra CA model is no longer available as all 1.8-liter engine-equipped Sentra XE and GXE models sold with California emission specifications offer zero evaporative emissions and meet SULEV (Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicles) standards. Other changes this year include a new power steering ratio for XE and GXE, a revised six-speed manual transmission for SE-R Spec V model and a new bright yellow exterior paint color for the SE-R and SE-R Spec V.
- Pleasing cabin design, SULEV emissions for California-sold cars, 165-horsepower SE-R sport version, fun to drive.
- Generic styling, Limited Edition and SE-R Spec V models command premium price.

Great So Far... - 2003 Nissan Sentra
By G&G - December 31 - 2:00 amWe are leasing a 5-speed, and have been very pleased so far. About 24,000 km to date, mostly highway commuting to work. No major repairs required to date. Controls are easy to find and operate, split seats in back make it easy to "borrow" more trunk space when we need it, great storage space inside. We test drove the Mazda, Honda and Saturn in the same category and feel we are getting more car for the money.

jeffs sentra - 2003 Nissan Sentra
By jefgil - December 24 - 10:00 amVery solidly built. Suspension is stiff, which minimizes a soft ride, but gives a very secure feeling of safety. Great pep in the motor. Ample room for tall (6) person in rear.

Great Car for the Buck! - 2003 Nissan Sentra
By Dwayne G. - December 7 - 10:00 amOverall, great car so far and from all Ive read (which is a lot) it should be for a long time. I have the 1.8L 4cyl which is the one I wanted because of the great fuel economy, but it could stand to be a little more peppy. With the rear spoiler, fog lights and alloy rims package, which I got, this car looks really good for a sedan, kind of like a small Maxima. The Stereo/CD system sounds great.

2003 SPEC V - 2003 Nissan Sentra
By buffman626 - October 25 - 10:00 amPurchased my SPEC V in April. .9% finance rate was the deal sealer. Its silver. The car was fully loaded from the factory. I tacked on many extras offered by the dealer such as LOJACK, Two tone leather seats silver/slategrey, gap insurance (not available in all states), rearview mirror w/auto dimm/compass/temp, wheel locks, and a wind deflector for the sun roof. I only have 970 miles on it so far and break in is 1200 so I havent really broken 4500rpm yet. It handles REALLY well and the ride although firm is not harsh. Out the door Im paying 384/60 with no down/no trade in. I love it and have no problems so far.

A fun little car - 2003 Nissan Sentra
By mark Chan - September 18 - 2:00 amTHIS SENTRA SER SPEC V IS A FUN CAR TO DRIVE, WITH LOTS OF TORQUE AND PLENTY OF POWER. THERE IS NO TURBO LAG OR WAITING FOR THE VTEC MECHANISM TO KICK IN, PRETTY MUCH LIKE DRIVING A FRONT WHEEL DRIVE MUSTANG, IF THERE IS ONE. THE SUSPENSION SETTING IS FIRM BUT COMFORTABLE. FORTUNATELY, NISSAN HAS INSTALLED THE HELICAL LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL INTO THIS VEHICLE, OTHERWISE IT WOULD BE A REAL CHALLENGE TO DRIVE THIS LITTLE MONSTER IN RAIN OR SNOW. BODY STRUSTURE IS IMPRESSIVE, COMBINED WITH THAT PRIMITIVE REAR BEAM AXLE, IT HANDLES MUCH LIKE A GOLF GTI, WHICH IS NOT A BAD THING.

Street Racer - 2003 Nissan Sentra
By Mark F - September 18 - 2:00 amI bought the Spec V because I needed a 4-door car to transport the wife and kid, needed a low payment and good fuel economy, yet still wanted to autocross on the weekends. The Spec V does it all very nicely thank you. Room for the family and it also powers around the pylons like crazy. No complaints.

Fun car to drive - 2003 Nissan Sentra
By shad82 - August 16 - 10:23 amIve had my car for almost 6 years and it is still a fun little car to drive. And it handles very well. My biggest problems with it was the faulty pre cat failure and I had to replace the ignition coils a few times as well. Another thing that I dont like about my car is the gas mileage, its a good car for local runs but I dont think its good car for long distance trips.

overall good car - 2003 Nissan Sentra
By jay123456 - August 12 - 10:00 amthe spec-v has a lot of power for its class. six-speed is awesome, but a little jumpy. i have been driving stick for years and was hoping the transmission was a little bit smoother on this new car. i have continental contisport tires on from the dealer, they have been rated bad for wet roads, but so far have held up well in rainy conditions. suspension is really tight. overall the car is excellent for its class and value. very sporty looking and at the same time very practical and gets pretty good gas mileage.
