This Year's Model Updates:

For 2003, there is a new 2.5 Limited Edition trim, which includes GXE front fascia styling, the 165-horsepower QR25 4-cylinder engine, standard automatic transmission, standard Antilock Braking System (ABS) and side-impact supplemental airbags. The Sentra CA model is no longer available as all 1.8-liter engine-equipped Sentra XE and GXE models sold with California emission specifications offer zero evaporative emissions and meet SULEV (Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicles) standards. Other changes this year include a new power steering ratio for XE and GXE, a revised six-speed manual transmission for SE-R Spec V model and a new bright yellow exterior paint color for the SE-R and SE-R Spec V.

Pros:
  • Pleasing cabin design, SULEV emissions for California-sold cars, 165-horsepower SE-R sport version, fun to drive.
Cons:
  • Generic styling, Limited Edition and SE-R Spec V models command premium price.

4 Dr Econo M3... Great build quality. Livable sports sedan. Lives up to the old Sentra SER with a much fresher look and, feel. Handles like my Integra GSR with less lean.

During winter, the heat takes a long time to warm up. It takes a while to accelerate onto freeways. Otherwise, its a great car!

Having recently worked my butt out of debt, i had determined to buy a sensible car that would be reasonably- priced, and reasonably sporty/outfitted with a few niceties. Though i love to drive good cars, they are a horrible investments, and i didnt want to go back into debt just to own one. In my shopping, I limited myself to an $18,000 max pricetag, which i was sure would land me in a sensible, boring, reliable small car. Boy was i wrong! After one drive of the SpecV, i was amazed at the amazingly solid handling, very peppy acceleration, and nicely-designed interior. All for under $18,000!

After test driving several of nissans competitors, including the hyundai tiburon and the Acura RSX, I chose to purchase the Nissan SE-R spec V. This is a fantastic car! The engine and transmission are solid. The engine produces plenty of power throughout the power band. I decided against the Rockford Fosgate system because Im going to install my own but The RF radio package is well worth the money. My favorite part of the car is the suspension. Its absolutely fantastic. Firm yet not bouncy. You have total control of the car. A top of the line spec V shouldnt set you back more than 18,000 which is a value that none of the other cars can touch.

I have owned this car for 1.5 months and I absolutely love it! It is comfortable, smooth, and looks great with the 5 star rims and fog lamps, and the tints I added. This car looks and runs great, and I am VERY happy with my purchase!

The nissan sentra se-r spec v, is an easy vehicle to maintain, all you need to do is keep up the usual maintenance and the spec v will be very reliable. the spec v does have alot of torque steer but you get used to it after awhile. the suspension setup in the spec v is ready for auto x, when you toss the spec v around the corners at higher speeds the spec v feels like its right at home. when you want to pass someone on the freeway it could be done in fifth gear without any problems. where else can you find 175hp, 180ft/tq with a helical limited slip differential, 6 speed manual transmission, auto x ready suspension and a fun car to drive for less that 20 thousand dollars.

  • Got what I paid for and more - 2003 Nissan Sentra

Considering the fact that my old Sentra drove 193,000 before someone turned into the front of it,I went out to purchase another one.I purchased it with the Synergy package and the side airbags/anti lock brakes.I do wish that Nissan would work on the overall build quality with the sentra. For example, the window trimming would become disaligned upon lowing the rear window. The dealer fixed it immediately. The car is quick in comparison to the others in its class. The car is certainly fun to drive, and the sound system is wonderful. Be careful however of the stiffer steering wheel which took me some getting used to, as well as the slight torche steer.
