Overview & Reviews
The 2007 Nissan Maxima receives a few changes this year. A new continuously variable transmission (CVT) is standard, and it replaces both the six-speed manual and five-speed automatic from last year. Nissan has also updated the car's front styling and improved its interior ergonomics a bit. Detail-oriented buyers might also notice that the V6 engine is rated for 10 less horsepower this year, but this is because of the implementation of a new SAE testing procedure. Actual engine performance is unaffected.
- Powerful V6 engine, roomy interior, upscale features, suspension well balanced for both handling and comfort.

Great so far & a nice change from Honda - 2007 Nissan Maxima
By Lucas - November 1 - 11:53 pmIve driven my new Maxima for about a week now. I previously drove an 03 Accord EX-V6. This car is every bit as comfortable as my Honda was, with much more pep! I wanted a sportier look and feel, and Nissan offers several things you can have in an Accord- HID headlights, keyless start, AUX in for my iPod, CVT, etc. I am a fan of the new styling for the front of the car, and the interior feels like a luxury car. Its still nicer inside than the Altima too. The engine is a dream and the CVT transmission is very smooth. I think the car is fast relative to my V6 Accord. So far, so good. This is my first Nissan and I am optimistic that I will very much enjoy it.

A Nice Sedan - 2007 Nissan Maxima
By czip - October 16 - 12:28 amThe vehicle falls some where between a Carmy, and an Accord; you wont feel like you are floating, and you wont feel like you are in a truck. The transmission doesnt have a quick low gear; so no jack rabbit starts here. The V-6 is solid, and allows for competent passing. I am tall, but the drivers seat is comfortable. I drive 120 miles to/from work each day, and have had no problems. Read about the recalls, and complaints before you look at the vehicle; know what to look for. Turn to aftermarket products, if you question Nissans quality control; ie. brakes and shocks/struts.

Great Value...Love it!!! - 2007 Nissan Maxima
By The Shadow - October 3 - 9:56 pmExtremely well thought out interior with loads of extra features. Handling aspect is limited due to front wheel drive, but otherwise a lot of fun to drive. CVT transmission is very smooth and peppy; has the option to revert to 6-speed manual for added excitement and fun.

Maxima Fan - 2007 Nissan Maxima
By bankerman - September 28 - 4:33 amWe have driven this vehicle in all types of weather conditions from 9 degrees to 109 degrees (no exaggeration). It is the third Maxima weve owned. Each one seems to improve over the last. It is comfortable, good looking, and instruments are convenient. CVT is a great thing!

Not What I Expected..... - 2007 Nissan Maxima
By kcire10 - September 2 - 12:59 pmI purchased the 2007 Maxima SE new and Ive had nothing but trouble from the start. Had it for almost 5 years and Ive had to get the AC compressor replaced, the motor mounts, belts (because of the compressor), and hoses for the AC. I also have trouble every now and again with the keyless entry. Plus, you pay an arm and a leg for 30,000 mile services ($600+). This is my first and my last Nissan. I should have bought a Honda!

Love the Car - 2007 Nissan Maxima
By Larry - August 4 - 10:23 pmSuperior acceleration, ride. Real highway cruiser in the best sense of the term. Drivetrain is a pleasure (world class VQ + new CVT = even better). The breaking in process gives me an excuse to modify acceleration, but I think Ill be doing it just for fun for a long time (swoops up nicely from 50-80+ without effort). The CVT, in my humble opinion, gives this car a performance advantage, as well as a nice aesthetic. Speaking of aesthetics, this Nissan provides what is too lacking in most competitors: an actually good looking car that you can connect to on an emotional level, in addition to being a fine machine. The 07 interior much better than 06.

Fun to Drive - 2007 Nissan Maxima
By charles hamilton - July 9 - 4:03 pmAs a Nissan owner for over 20 years, the vehicle is an excellent choice. It rides smooth, excellent handling. However, the seats are very hard and do not give in, making a person with a back problem, very uncomfortable.

Maxima grows up-finally - 2007 Nissan Maxima
By boss315 - May 28 - 2:00 amI owned a 2004 Maxima and the 2007 bears little resemblance to it! The CVT is a little loud and balky in low range--only complaint. The under/oversteer torque is gone--the ride is much better, more like an entry level luxury sedan should be; dash is cleaned up and less cluttered, less cheap. Most of all, it is FUN to drive and take on long trips. I drove the TL and M35--couldnt see spending 50k on a "Maixma on steroids," the M35.
