Started out amazing, but... - 2005 Nissan Frontier
By fronteeer - May 4 - 3:53 pmIve written a few favorable reviews about this truck, but its had a few major problems and Im afraid it might become a liability soon, since the b2b warrantys gone and the power train is close. Nissan replaced the entire HVAC unit because it only worked on hot and cold, and they couldnt fix it. I recently had a belt and tensioner changed to get rid of a loud squeak when idling cold. The fuel gauge went nuts and I had to have everything changed from the gauge back. Now theres a loud clunk coming from the drive train when I accelerate while turning, in both 4x2 and 4x4. Sometimes the steering wheel pulls so hard to one side after turning, I have to basically stop and let it go.

Big Improvement in the Frontier for 05 - 2005 Nissan Frontier
By Todd - March 3 - 4:50 amJust purchased a 4WD Crew Cab. This is a great new truck for Nissan. I compared it to the Tacoma and the Canyon. It is a lot of truck for the money. It was an easy decision. The V6 is powerful. The ride is better than previous years and the exterior is sharp and masculine. Finally looks like a guys truck.

Nissan Has Nailed It! - 2005 Nissan Frontier
By racuda - December 13 - 10:36 amThis is my third Nissan truck in 12 years. It is light years ahead of the other two, like the difference between a Pinto and a Porche. The raw power is the first thing I noticed. Its a good thing I got the limited slip differential - it is necessary to keep the wheels from spinning at full throttle. Of course, this comes at a cost - Im only getting 18.5 MPG on the highway. The reason I picked Nissan over Toyota is because I wanted power leather seats (heated), and a sunroof. Also the Nissan uses regular gas compared to the premium that Toyota recommends. I recommend getting the rubber all-weather floor mats. They are much easier to maintain that the carpeted ones.

2005 LE CREW CAB - 2005 Nissan Frontier
By JIM LAPSLEY - September 25 - 2:43 pmIve had the vehicle for 1 month and just got through Nissans 1200 mile break-in, I had a chance to put it to the floor, after 4000 rpm a huge surge in power and goes to red line quickly. Overall truck is very tight, rides nice and is a joy to drive. It has loads of power and alot of interior room. Im extremely please with this vehicle and would recommend to anyone.

05 Frontier - 2005 Nissan Frontier
By WMacork - August 3 - 12:50 pmBody integrity needs work. Tailgate hinges have been replaced but tailgate is too heavy and has caused body damage to lower part of tailgate. Fosgate radio is good but two bands of AM and only 1 of FM doesnt make sense. Satellite from Nissan is too expensive even though convenient. My spouse doesnt like the passenger seat for trips but drivers seat is very comfy. Reliability has been very good except body integrity.

Not sure - 2005 Nissan Frontier
By spiff - April 13 - 5:10 amA good solid truck with a lot of promise. I have owned it for 3 years now with nothing major wrong with it. Just a lot of little things. Things like gas cap door spring falling off, door handle cover falling off, ac ducts came loose, rear bumper lights becoming loose, rattling in the exhaust. I have to say it hauls a load well and the bed track system is great.

Not Quite Good Enough - 2005 Nissan Frontier
By alko - December 26 - 8:10 pmThis review is specifically for the 2x4 Crew Cab SE w/ 6-speed tranny. This truck looks nice and has nice features in and out and the interior controls and gauges are well thought out, but threr are a couple of things I dislike. The front suspension is so stiff that it does nothing to absorb the freeway bumps and constantly throws my body from side to side on uneven terrain such as dips and driveways. The tires take all the abuse bouncing over the bumps. Its almost unbearable. The other thing I dislike is the electronic throttle control which has a decceleration delay of about 1 second and makes smooth shifting very hard to master. I just dont understand the thinking behind this.

Not sure I made the right choice... - 2005 Nissan Frontier
By Tex - January 17 - 5:00 amThis is my first Nissan and my first truck. Bought this truck base on price primarily, as compared to Taco. Didnt consider US products base on previously bad experiences. After 5100 miles the dash rattles sometimes when idling, the rear suspension squeaks (I HATE squeaks and rattles), and presently the dealership cant figure out why it wont start. The dealer set me up with a rental F150 Crew Cab which, I hate to admit, I like- its very comfortable and responsive. Heed other reviews that comment on the driver arm rest, driver side only door unlock, key fob, and plastic dash- these turned out to be real annoyances for me. If I could give my Frontier back and get all my money back, I would.

By king - January 15 - 7:33 amOverall driving is an improvement. Too bad you ruined it with that horrible cover on the back
