Overview & Reviews
A new grille, front fascia and headlights, designed to provide a "greater sense of luxury," as well as smoother body cladding and dechromed taillights update the Montero. A bigger (3.8 liter) V6 adds some much-needed power to this 4,700-pound SUV.
- High-quality interior materials, sharp interior design, large cargo capacity, excellent off-road capability.
- Serious lack of power compared to rivals, mediocre on-road handling, useless third-row seat.

Tough Comfortable Odd looking Suv - 2003 Mitsubishi Montero
By George - September 5 - 2:03 amIm really impressed with the off-road capablities of this vehicle, if not for somewhat low clearances, this truck could be unstoppable. Ive taken it places my friends have feared to tread, (pathfinder) just in its stock form. The gas mileage is unimpressive, though from its size its expected. Plus it was so cheap I can afford to have fun with it.

Love my Montero - 2003 Mitsubishi Montero
By Miko - November 10 - 10:00 amWhen we were looking for a family vehicle we were testing Minivans and had decided to get a Honda however we fell in love with the Montero. I feel that this SUV rides more like a car than other SUVs weve tested ie: the Pilot, CR-V and Endeavor. If you have older kids this was a better fit. There is lots of room in the front and second seat. The third row seat meant for two additional passengers is really poorly designed, my ten year old has a hard time. It is really comfortable when we travel with the family. There is plenty of room for bags and luggage. Overall we really love this SUV.
