Overview & Reviews
The big changes for 2007 are under the hood of the V8 models. The CLK500 becomes the CLK550 via a larger V8. It delivers 382 horsepower, a full 80 more hp than last year. Similarly, the AMG version of the CLK convertible gets more muscle-bound, becoming the CLK63 and boasting 475 hp, a 113-hp increase. In less exciting news, the V6 version, the CLK350, gets a new optional Sports Appearance package.
- Powerful engines, solid chassis, composed ride, comfortable front seats, fast power top operation in Cabriolet.
- High price, some subpar plastic trim, a few quirky controls.

Incredible - 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class
By Fastunlimited - August 17 - 3:40 pmWe have owned everything from Porches, BMWs, Mercedes, and Corvettes and this is by far the best car. The combination of power and luxury is unbeatable. The looks of this car are stunning with the AMG package. Not to mention a hand-built engine that is to die for. The price for this car is a little on the high side for the market but in comparison to the M6, it is an overall better car. Highly recommend for any high performance car enthusiast, it will be a nice treat.

CLK350 Buyers Beware !! - 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class
By 7X - April 16 - 2:00 amRecently purchased a certified pre owned (cpo) 2007 CLK350 Coupe; gem of a car but since found out it has one EXPENSIVE FLAW ! Various Mercedes Benz models built between 2005 and 2008 have a defective balance shaft and/or balance shaft sprocket. Its a defect in the metal part which wears prematurely. To replace and repair, it in the CLK models with the 350 (272) engine, it requires removal of the engine!! The dealer knew this problem exists and didnt tell me before I made the purchase. I bought this car in good faith that it would last me many years, now I found out it will likely need an engine tear-down before it hits 100K miles, maybe closer to 60K. Shameful.

Nice but with some flaws - 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class
By Eric - January 11 - 12:30 amOverall, a very nice car with an air of high luxury. As for reliability, had a squealing noise which was a pulley bearing subject to recall. Dealer fixed with no hassle. We now have a strange rattle from the vicinity of the differential. Of course, it stopped when we took the car to the dealer and hasnt yet returned. Performance -- acceleration, braking, handling -- is just okay by my standards but I race cars, so I have high standards. This is primarily my wifes car. For the typical purchaser of this car, the performance is more than adequate. Not too happy about the high depreciation, but we plan on retaining the car for a while.

550 Cabriolet review - 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class
By jb from san diego - December 19 - 1:40 pmThis car is beautifully styled and lots of pep. The older models had a blind spot on the rear passenger side. There is great visibility with this model.

Luxury and performance - 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class
By simon - February 19 - 6:50 pmSo far this is a pretty rare car on the road probably because its so highly priced yet not so flashy. Ive owned this car for two weeks and put on about 900 miles. The acceleration/power is breathtaking and makes me smile every time I drive this car. The suspension is soft enough to ride comfortably in NYC. And very quiet! I love everything about this car!

CLK550: Use EDP to drive it on Autobahn! - 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class
By No Tickets Yet - August 9 - 11:20 amIf you get a CLK550 Cabriolet, the sport suspension option is a must have. Had mine trucked down to N. Cal. from Wash. State, since it was only one in Western USA with sport suspension (for me), run flats (for wife), backseat side airbags (for son), and P3 option (best front seats). It has every opt. except power trunk closer. This is the best Mercedes Ive every owned, and been loyal customer since bought 380 SL in 1982! Solid build, no problems, performs better than last years AMG model for $20K less, quiet with the top up. 0-60 mph on mine is much faster than 5.1 sec. spec. It can go 65+ on 25mph curved exit w/o ESC. Wish I could take it to Germany and drive it on the Autobahn!

Kudos to Mercedes CLK class - 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class
By Roger Lund - January 19 - 1:50 amMy fifth Mercedes. This is the best. I have had more compliments on this car than any of the previous 50 or more that I have owned. It is the most confortable car to drive that I ever owned. The only complant that I have is the lack of Blue Tooth phone capabilities. The cost of adding the Mercedes equipment is rediculous. I will wait for the appropriately priced after market to become available.

CLK 550 Barn Burner - 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class
By BjM - December 16 - 11:26 amMy experience is only 1 month old, but if my initial response is any indication of the future, this is one fantastic vehicle. I have owned over 80 cars in a lifetime of ownership from BMW and Jag to Corvettes, Porsche etc.. My CLK 550 is one of, if not the best of the bunch out of the box! Very fast and very smooth. Handles incredibly well under all but ice and snow for which I have no experience whatsoever. It will stay in the garage for sure during these periods! Fit and finish is everything one can expect from a $60K vehicle.
