This Year's Model Updates:

The 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 has been completely redesigned. In addition to gaining the same changes as the regular 2010 Mazda 3, the new Mazdaspeed version benefits from suspension changes that improve its handling abilities over the previous-generation car.

Pros:
  • Strong turbocharged performance, sophisticated ride and handling, upscale interior, hatchback utility, lengthy features list, reasonable price.
Cons:
  • Unavoidable torque steer, no sedan option.

Had the car a little over two months and nearly 3,000 miles. The car had all the prerequisites I wanted. Fun to drive, safe, reliable (hopefully) and practical. I live in West Virginia with an abundance of mountain roads. The car is blast to drive. There is a learning curve to handle the torque steer and notchy gearbox, plus the clutch is tricky to modulate. The highway ride is not too noisy or rough for my tastes. Love the car.

After tax and fees base sport approaching 26K but worth every penny. Ride is very stiff, noisy especially in the back seat, bumps at highway speeds are worrisome. Easy to overlook these faults because of the handling, connected feel and sheer fun. Shifter is surprisingly good although I read mixed reviews. The exterior design is subjective but Ive gotten no complaints. The interior is well laid out and pleasing to the eye. There are subtle blue LEDs at night that are always on inside. The overall package just works and its becoming one of my favorite rides.

  • How do they do it? - 2010 Mazda MazdaSpeed3

That is the question. How does Mazda build and sale a car for under $25000 with all the bells and whistles, plus major performance and driveability. The Mazdaspeed 3 is my first Mazda and I am totally thrilled with this purchase. Hands free and voice activated bluetooth for phone and music. Navigation that is more than able, Bose 10 speaker audio, 6 disc in dash changer, Sirius satellite radio all placed for perfect ergonomics. Dual climate control, power windows and locks and a serious keyless entry. I havent used an actual key in nearly four months. It has two charging ports, auxiliary jack, vanity mirrors with lights, accent lighting on the doors and interior roof.

Ive wanted a Mazda Speed 3 for about 2 years and finally my dream came true. It is everything I thought it would be and more. It is FAST, comfortable and has many features you wouldnt expect for a car in this price range. The handling is second to none!

  • Fun - 2010 Mazda MazdaSpeed3

Had gone out looking for a fun but practical car and checked the entire class out. Ended up choosing the speed for functionality, 5 doors, hatchback, nice upscale inside, etc. My wife wasnt going to see me walk away in a 2 seat sports car. Theres very little I dont like about this car, the digital turbo gauge, lack of a temp gauge, low shift points (power peters out past 5500 RPM or so and I came from a Vtec). But the interior looks great, and is roomy for me (62" tall). I get decent gas mileage with it, somewhere around 23 or so overall (though the trip computer keeps telling me I get 27), and while I am still not too fond of the smile, it is growing on me.

  • Love me Love me not - 2010 Mazda MazdaSpeed3

I have had my Mazdaspeed 3 for 3 months and 3700 miles now and have noticed things I love and things that need improvement. The car handles very well, but may be a bit harsh for some. The interior is very nicely laid out (love the blue accent lighting). The exterior styling can take a bit getting used to. I bought mine in Black, so the "happy face" is not noticeable at all. I drive very conservatively so I have been averaging around 23-24 mpg with a 60-40 mix of city and highway driving. Overall a nice car and a great value, but Mazda needs to work on the clutch on these cars. My clutch is taking away from the fun of driving it, which is a big reason why people buy these cars.

I have owned a Civic SI. It rides smoother and more powerful. I test drove the GTI. I agree not as refined, but very close and again way more fun to drive. Gas mileage on the freeway without a lead foot should be around 30 miles/gallon. All this and for less than 23K. I also picked up an extended warranty 5yrs/100K which is included in the price above. Overall best value hands down. Try get this kind of deal with the civic, gti, wrx. You must have made the deal with a gun.

I had my 09 and that was brutal for everyday car. A true sports car. Decided to upgrade to the 2010 and is way more livable. I love the car but it got toned down so much to the level of a 3 series BMW. Is quick but not as the 09. Handles better then the 09. Is quiet and really on spot steering. Way better then anything I have driven

  • First to own in my area. - 2010 Mazda MazdaSpeed3

This car was a blast from the get go and I cant even red line it yet. The Touqe starts low and the acceleration is impressive for its size. After test driving the evo I actually choose this model. It felt more stable and was working very well. Smooth shifting. Wish it had a moon roof but I can deal. The interior set up with out the Navi is the way to go. Just adding the satellite pkg later. Plenty of room for you and your friend. 10* better then the WRX, GTI, and RalliArt lancers. The rear of the vehicle is the only part I am a little curious about. I dont prefer the bug look but it works with the overall feel of the vehicle. Test drive one and you will not be disappointed.

  • Best hot hatch value - 2010 Mazda MazdaSpeed3

I just got my 2010 MazdaSpeed3. It is silver with the tech package. The engine is the same as the last MS3, but revamped tuning and a new driveline have contributed to making this car much easier to drive, and lots more fun. The brakes are even better than the last car, and I have been unable to unsettle the chassis in spirited street driving. Body roll is minimal, and they have somehow managed to almost eliminate understeer.
