  • Fun Family Car - 2007 Mazda Mazda5

We looked at everything from the Ford Edge, the Pacifica to the Honda CRV and Toyota Rav4. While each of these models have some cool features the Mazda5 had the basic cool features, PLUS family roominess, fuel economy, sleek looks, and zoom zoom for less money than all the others we looked at. We are so, so pleased with our purchase. Mazda has the quality that provides peace of mind too. The most fun about this vehicle is the fact that we get a fun to drive family car with fuel economy. It only took $31 to fill er up from less than 1/4 of a tank so that is nice and we got about 330 miles out of it. LOVE IT!

Bought ours new in July 07. Overall, this is a very good car for a new family with small children. Easy access with the sliding rear doors but it doesnt feel like your driving a minivan. Needs more horsepower! We have averaged 23 mpg in mixed driving since we bought the car, not bad but not great. Routinely get 27 on the highway even with the Thule cargo box on top. This car is one of Mazdas best kept secrets!

I love this car!!! It is the perfect thing for moms with two children who occasionally need to transport two more. The car itself is fun to drive, drives like a car but has space like a van. It is the best of both worlds and I feel good that it is not a full size minivan.

I am picky about my cars, and this one seemed like a no-brainer. It handles like a non-minivan, make me look younger than my late thirties, holds everyone in my family and then some, hauls all our camping gear, and gets great mileage. This is one of the hidden secrets of autodom.

  • Its a van! A wagon! Its a sports car! - 2007 Mazda Mazda5

We bought a 06 for my wife, I liked it and bought one for me. Still the best value out there...Mazda has to be losing money on selling these. Loaded, all the safety stuff, all of the goodies, nice looking, versatile, very well built.

  • In a class by itself - 2007 Mazda Mazda5

This is a great vehicle—you just have to know what to compare it to! Its not an Odyssey / Caravan / Sienna competitor. Yes, it has a third row but the Mazda5 is a much smaller vehicle. We stepped up from a Mazda3 after we had our second child. I found we didnt need all the space of a full size minivan so our Mazda5, with a manual transmission to boot, is a great compromise between a 5 seat hatchback and a full size minivan. Weve put 15,000 miles on it so far and have not it in the shop once for a mechanical failure. If you think it looks like a space ship youll probably get used to that after a while. Tinting the windows all around also helps.

  • This car is GREAT! - 2007 Mazda Mazda5

I have a 60 mile round-trip daily commute, and a family with 2 small children; This is the ideal cross-over between an economical commuter car and a mini-van! And, while it would be nice if Mazda would tweak the motor to get another 15 hp, it performs just fine. It handles and brakes extremely well... Zoom-zoom! The interior is well planned, and the materials, fit and finish are excellent! It has a great ride, is reasonably quiet, and it even looks pretty good for a "minivan"! The touring model is also well equiped with cruise control, sunroof, side-skirts, 17" alloy wheels, 6CD changer, climate control, etc. The only "option" we added was the rear bumper step guard.

  • Great car (ok, minivan) for the money - 2007 Mazda Mazda5

I swore Id never drive a minivan but here I am doing so and actually enjoying it. It is versatile and very easy for the kids to get into and out of by themselves. It gets good gas mileage even in the cold winter months. I have never gotten below 22 mpg on a tank of gas. I love the fact that it is getting more popular and that when I first got it, people were asking me what it was. I love all the spaces to hide things in. Ive been accused of having everything but a toilet and sink in it but you wont see any of it. If you live in a really snowy/icy climate you will want to get snow tires. Stock tires perform as expected on the snow but are next to useless on ice.

  • Getting Another - 2007 Mazda Mazda5

I loved my 2007 Mazda5! I love it even more now. Unfortunately someone hit me this week and totaled my beloved vehicle. Over $15000 in damage and I feel perfect 3 days after, my 18 mo old son is unhurt. The car did just what it should - protect my family. I called dealer next day and am going to get my 2008 next week. Any car that is this safe as well as fun to drive, nice looking and roomy - what more could you ask for?

  • A fun to drive, attractive, practical car - 2007 Mazda Mazda5

This car is the perfect size for my wife and me. We can carry ourselves and our four grandchildren easily. It has a great deal of storage room when we are alone or traveling with two other people. It is a gas to drive and does not feel like you are driving a minivan . Other minivans are way too big for us but the Mazda is perfect. I would suggest anyone looking for a vehicle that has versatility and is also fun to drive check out the 5. I do not think you will be disappointed.
