This Year's Model Updates:

All new for 2004, the Mazda 3 receives only minor changes for 2005. The four-door "i" model gets a new 15-inch wheel cover design, and Sirius Satellite Radio is now available on all models.

Pros:
  • Fun-to-drive character, stylish interior design, strong engines, hatchback utility.
Cons:
  • Ride might be too stiff for some, a few ergonomic quirks, tight rear legroom.

My son has a Protege and introduced me to the world of Mazdas. My first look at the Mazda 3 Hatchback had me hooked. Then I heard on the Today Show how they were ranked one of the safest cars and I knew that when it was time for me to buy, thats what I wanted. I was even more delighted when I got behind the wheel for the first time. I still grin from ear to ear while driving. I work with a lot young people, early 20s, and theyre jealous of my ride. Dont worry, I let my son borrow it too. Hes looking for a Mazda Speed down the road, so were definitely a Mazda family now.

The mazda 3 has never disappointed me in the 5 months of owning it, easily the best car I have driven in terms of handling, performance on and off the highway, and overall style.

I bought the Mazda3 s 2.3 in April of 05. Got into a head on collision, and walked away without a scratch. Since my new baby was totaled, I went out and bought a new one, except I bought the Special Edition (SP23). I loved the BOSE system, the Leather and the Heated Seates. Also has 17" Alloys instead of the 16" on the other one. I cant be more happy with this car. It truly is the best car in its class for the value. Holds a corner like it is on rails!

Drives great, this 2.3 engine is fast with the 5 speed. Nice looking for a 5 door. Close ratio gears makes it easy to shift.

I needed a daily driver so I could keep my sports car for the weekend. I didnt really expect the daily driver to be as much fun as the Mazda 3 is. I do believe its not only the best compact sedan to come out recently, but one of the best overall. Ive always been an auto enthusiast so Im quite picky when I test drive a vehicle. With better than expected acceleration, great gas mileage, low costing insurance, clean looking interior, attractive exterior, you wont do better near this price point.

The Mazda 3 hatchback can only be described as a incredibly awesome car for the money. Its got it all: performance, style, value and practicality to boot. Go for the 5- speed, you will not be disappointed. ZOOM ZOOM!!!

it is a great driving experience and the style is nice and sleek. otherwise, the car is great except the fuel intake. i seem to have to fill my tank three through seven days. this car burns alot of gas.

I comparison shopped this with the Honda 2005 Civic EX SE (hmmmmm...1.7L or 2.3L?), and found this to be the better buy hands down. It is also worth noting the Mazda3 is less expensive to insure than a Honda, due to national crime statsistics. My only gripes so far is that the vehicle was sold to me way out of alignment, and the passenger side airbag seems to be disabled. They offered to fix everything without question of course, but it makes me wonder about Mazdas quality assurance (though its possible this happened during a demo). Otherwise, its a beautifully designed Japanese vehicle, that will have many of your friends feeling envious.

I bought my brand new mazda 3 a week ago. So far the car has been amazing. Its such a smooth ride and very sporty. I do suggest putting leather into the car. I did, and it was well worth it.

I have only had my car for a week, but Ive never enjoyed driving more! I was looking at a Mini initially, but it was just a little out of my price range. I then found this online, and chose it because of its looks. Im telling you, Mazda doesnt play when they say Zoom- Zoom! Just to give you a taste of how awesome the gas mileage is: it was filled up and driven 250 miles with the air conditioning on the entire time, and it still had half a tank left in it! Dont take the price for this "beginner" model for granted; you get a lot of bang for your buck. With gas prices as high as they are, Id recommend this to anyone who wants a car that has plenty of horsepower and is on a tight budget....
