Overview & Reviews
Only minor changes occur for the 2009 Mazda CX-9. A trip computer is now standard on all trim levels, and the base model gets standard Bluetooth phone capability. All-wheel-drive models come standard with a trailer tow prep package, and Grand Touring trims get a standard garage door opener and auto-dimming rearview mirror. In addition, satellite radio now comes with the upgraded audio and rear-seat entertainment packages.
- Sporty performance and handling, stylish and roomy cabin, loads of cargo space, easy access to spacious third row, solid build quality, high crash test scores.
- Long rear doors can be hard to open in tight parking spaces, stiff ride with 20-inch wheels, a few cheap interior bits, stingy interior storage.

Water coming into car after heavy rain - 2009 Mazda CX-9
By rant1 - January 31 - 10:21 pmNot happy with the car or the service. Water comes through the windsheild and Mazda will not cover it because the car was in a minor accident damaging the front fog light. They are unrelated but Mazda claims that they are related. Now I have electrical problems similar to ones I see posted elsewhere and they will not cover that either. A lemon from the beginning with poor service.

But a Toyota or Honda - 2009 Mazda CX-9
By Matthew medley - November 6 - 3:37 amPoorly manufactured transmission and engineering. If you get to 100k, you will most definitely replace some very costly parts. There is zero support from Mazda. Your basically buying a tricked out Ford. I would not recommend this vehicle to my worst enemy

My favorite car so far - 2009 Mazda CX-9
By Mr T - September 27 - 3:33 pmWe are expecting our second child and our Mazda tribute is now too small when carrying people around (we had to drive two cars). So we started looking for a 7 passenger vehicle, the choices were between the Pilot, Highlander, Traverse and the CX-9. The Pilot and the Traverse had finishing touches that seemed cheap, the Highlander exterior design seems as it did not know if it wanted to be a truck or a car so it chose something in between. At the end we got the CX-9 because we qualified for the 0% APR and no money down. Hey why pay cash when the bank is giving you money for free! So far no buying remorse.

Mazda CX-9 is smooooooth - 2009 Mazda CX-9
By Maria - April 21 - 9:00 pmI compared the CX-9 to the Murano, Venza, CRX, and Edge. CX-9 was the smoothest, quietest ride. Great handling, and lots of storage. Third row seating in a pinch, which none of the others had.

great drive and ride, but cheap interior - 2009 Mazda CX-9
By Marriedwithkids - February 20 - 1:46 pmWe traded a xc90 awd as we needed more room in the back seats. Would have never thought about the Mazda cx9 beyond reading the reviews. Once my wife and I drove it we loved it. Cool looking mommy wagon without the geekness of a minivan or suv. Very fast, handles well and looks way cool.

So good were getting another... - 2009 Mazda CX-9
By Mr F - January 1 - 12:30 pmWeve had the vehicle for over one year. It drives as good as the day we took it off the lot! The suspension is tight, handling unchanged, pretty zippy for a big SUV with a small engine. It really turns heads. The GT model is a must have.
