Commuting 626 - 1998 Mazda 626
By Vikefan - October 2 - 10:00 amNeeded a car to commute 35 miles one way, wanted something stylish and good on gas. Toyotas and Hondas are so much more expensive, whereas Mazda is often the forgotten step brother! I bought it with 43K miles on it and at 65K the Alternator went out took it to the shop nearby. 24 hours later, the EFI valve went out,...suspicous,...And it was something I couldnt do myself , because Mazada would not release that part to the public yet. Anyway, it is a great commuter and decent sound system. Shouldve gotten the 6 cyl instead of the 4 cyl, not enough snort. My wife has a hard time seeing out the back, other than that very happy with it.

By e44 - September 6 - 4:33 pmI have absolutely no problems with this car. I follow the maintenance schedule faithfully. I have read reviews that say the manual transmission is no good. I find it shifts like a dream. My car has +100 000 miles on it and it runs perfectly. The clutch has absolutely no wear on it. If you maintain these cars they will be dependable and very economical. I would advise staying away from the automatic transmission. This is a Ford product. The car is fun to drive, has responsive steering and connects the driver well to the road.

I think this car is impressive for the price and I get a lot of compliments (especially the interior).On the freeway this car maneuver really nice.It supposed to have a sport suspension (and I believe it)Gas mileage is acceptable 26 mpg all around driving. Cant complain. Im happy with it and glad I didnt get a civic or elantra.This car is worth checking out if youre in the market for a good used car 10-13 gran.

The car wont die - 1998 Mazda 626
By jon - May 7 - 4:10 ami have had this car for 6 months now it is my first car and it keeps turning heads even at 11 or how ever old it is people have stopped me and said what a nice cat that is i cant complain the car only die once because of a bad fuel pump but come on it is from 1998. when i bought it it had 125,000 and in six months i have put on another thousand so it really holds up

Good family/professional car - 2001 Mazda 626
By jordao - May 5 - 3:33 pmOther than the nice features below, the leather seats are really comfortable. It has a very smooth drive, but the V6 has plenty of pick up and go when I need it. I am 6 foot 2, and the Hondas and Toyotas I tried are not comfortable. The Mazda has a great roomy interior with a real professional feel, easy to get in and out.

Great second-hand car! - 1999 Mazda 626
By kingsubbu - April 23 - 10:00 amI bought this car from a used car dealership about 2 months back. Its been simply great! I bought the car with abt 50K miles on it...have already put on close to 6K miles in less than 2 months and I must say its been pure joy all the way!

By Kay - January 19 - 10:00 amAfter more thatn 10 minutes of driving, my back becomes tired. other than that, I love the car. The sound system is great, and the car handles well. I was originally in the market for a Honda Accord, after I est drove the 626, I was sold!!!!

Had to buy it, but not unhappy! - 1999 Mazda 626
By FourPanMan - December 8 - 10:00 amI leased this car back in 1999 - the only V6 5-speed in the entire state of Florida - and now its time to turn it in. One problem, I have 87,000 miles on it and was only allowed 36k. However, Im not unhappy about buying the car. Its fast, handles well, gets great mileage, and aside from basic maintenance, Ive put a total of $25 into it. Ive outrun more cars than I care to admit and survived one pretty serious accident.
