Model Overview:

Astute consumers will note that the Lincoln Mark LT is actually the company's second attempt at building a luxury pickup truck. The similarly sized Blackwood predecessor had a few unique and interesting features, but was criticized for being both overpriced and impractical. Moreover, many felt the cabin did not live up to its luxurious nameplate. So Lincoln went back to the drawing board and the resulting Mark LT is more practical and stylish. Though obviously closely related to the crew-cab version of the Ford F-150 full-size pickup, Lincoln's version had a more contemporary and upscale interior and unique exterior styling cues.

As a competitor in the luxury truck segment, the Lincoln Mark LT pickup offered the benefits of an upscale look, a roomy cabin, a choice of a 5.5-foot bed or 6.5-foot bed, and smooth power and ride qualities. Full-size pickup truck shoppers just wanting something a bit different from a commonplace pickup probably drove away from a Lincoln dealership satisfied even though the Mark LT didn't offer anything really significant beyond what was available on the F-150. It was mostly cosmetic upgrades like a chrome Lincoln grille, special taillights and Lincoln badging.

The LT's final year was 2008. In its place, Ford introduced the F-150 Platinum, the highest trim level offered in the model lineup.

Most Recent Lincoln Mark LT

The Lincoln Mark LT was available only as a full-size crew-cab truck in two sizes: a standard-wheelbase model with 5.5-foot bed or a longer-wheelbase version with a 6.5-foot bed. Compared to its down-market Ford cousin, the Lincoln differed mainly in its styling. There was only one trim level available -- standard features included leather seating, wood trim, heated front seats, keyless entry and a premium MP3/CD audio system (with satellite radio added for '08). Options included rear-seat DVD entertainment, a navigation system, a rearview camera (added for '08), a power rear window and chromed 18-inch wheels, bed-rail caps and running boards.

Behind the Mark LT's signature Lincoln grille was a 5.4-liter V8 making 300 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque; the only transmission was a four-speed automatic. Depending on your traction requirements, two- and four-wheel-drive variants were available. The Mark LT's roomy cabin seated five and, although luxurious, it was not substantially different from its fully dressed Ford cousin. The leather seats were comfortable and had contrasting colored piping, while the gauges were chrome-trimmed and incorporated the Lincoln logo. To lend an upscale look to the cabin, Lincoln designers dressed up the dash with faux wood trim and leather; the trim on the dash, steering wheel and shifter was especially nice, as the exposed stitching added an extra element of refinement.

On the road, the Lincoln's V8 lacked the low-end grunt of the V8 engines in the Escalade EXT, Dodge Ram and Toyota Tundra, but almost made up for that with its smooth, quiet power delivery. Suspension tuning was on the soft side, resulting in a smooth and comfortable highway ride, but handling was not exactly nimble. Brake pedal feel was only so-so as well, though the Lincoln Mark LT stopped acceptably short for a vehicle that weighed nearly 3 tons loaded.

Past Lincoln Mark LT models

Lincoln introduced the Mark LT luxury pickup for the 2006 model year. A few changes came in 2007, as a navigation system, 20-inch chrome wheels and power-folding mirrors were added to the options list. The 6.5-foot cargo bed option was also new this year; all '06 Lincoln Mark LTs had a 5.5-foot bed.

From kids to adults they all stop and stare! Great style and presence makes the Mark LT turn heads. With the chrome running boards and bed liner this is one sweet truck! Those that say it is just a tricked out Ford F150, its no different from the Chevrolet Avalanche to the Cadillac Escalade EXT but $10,000 less. With the superior interior comfort and room, along with sirrus tunes you can go cross country pulling your belongings and get out feeling like a king!

  • Love my 2007 Mark LT - 2007 Lincoln Mark LT

After owning five Ford pickups, the Mark LT seemed the logical "step up". As nice as the Lariat and King Ranch Fords are, Lincoln takes it up another notch. On the open road it is nearly as comfortable as my 2004 Town Car and/or the 2000 Navigator I had before that. I like the fact that its based on the F150 because it is a tried and proven vehicle yet offers a more luxurious ride than Ive had from my previous trucks. Its a definite keeper!

This truck is a nice truck that is designed for the people who earn it. This truck is far the best looking truck and the most comfortable truck alive

  • Excellent Truck - 2006 Lincoln Mark LT

This has been one of the best trucks ive owned! I had a Ford F-150 Lariat previously and this truck blows it away. The exterior looks great along with the interior, the interior could be better quality in spots but overall its pretty good. I put a lot of miles on it each year and only had one problem with one of the back up sensors, but Fords great warrenty (50,000 bumper to bumper warrenty) backed me up and I didnt pay a penny. The gas mileage isnt bad for such a large truck I avg. about 14-15 in the city and 18-20 on the highway. This is a great truck and would recommend it to anybody. Id by another one any day! Lincoln should have never stopped making this car, maybe they will again

  • This Girls Truck - 2006 Lincoln Mark LT
    By -

Silly Boys...Trucks are for Girls! This is the greatest truck ever built. I love my truck and have even named her "Big Bertha". She is certainly a man intimidator! Her performance and styling is superior. She pulls a trailer or boat like there is nothing in tow. This is one mean truck and I will have her for many years to come. My Thanks to Lincoln for the Mark LT.

  • Best vehicle Ive ever owned - 2006 Lincoln Mark LT

This is the best vehicle Ive ever owned! Absolutely nothing wrong in 28,000+ miles! I get 19 mpg on the road @ 65 mph. About 15 mpg city. It is by far the quietest pickup made anywhere today, period!

  • not as good as it looks - 2007 Lincoln Mark LT
    By -

the lincoln mark lt looks like a winner, but it is covering just an average truck. the quality control from the factory needs improvements. Many thing were not correct on the delivery of the vehicle and has taken a lot of personal time to try and correct unfinished items on the truck. I would not recommend this truct to any of my friends.

I have owned 16 new vehicles since 1966 and I have gotten more complments on the Mark LT than any other vehicle. The ride is pure Lincoln and the styling is turning heads. Thank You Ford for such a beautiful truck!!!!

  • Vibrating Down the Road - 2007 Lincoln Mark LT
    By -

Extremely disappointed. Expected quality ride, however truck constantly shakes when driving, regardless of speed; and shimmies when brakes are applied. Have been to dealership 3 times and service manager responds with "I hate Ford; thats as good as its going to get". Would not recommend this truck or dealership. If you go over a bump, the back doors sound like they arent completely closed, which of course means truck is not as quiet inside as you would expect. Also, for a truck with under 10,000 miles, it idles roughly. I expected much more for the price. After meeting with owner, I expected some resolution rather than "it drives better than my Ford 350".

  • Remarkable Truck - 2006 Lincoln Mark LT
    By -

This is by far the best truck I have ever seen (and I live in San Antonio, TX). Gets comments everywhere I go. Power and fuel mileage are extremely good for a truck this large. Plenty of room inside and out for how I would use a truck. Stereo even impresses the kids -- the subwoofer will make the cars around you shake. The real wood trim is so smooth, you have to look twice to realize what they are. The chrome running boards look great with the rest of the truck, and are very functional with the rubber inserts.
