Overview & Reviews
The power rear hatch is now standard on all models, as is wood and leather trim for the shift knob and steering wheel. The power passenger seat is upgraded from four-way to eight-way while the optional navigation system gets Bluetooth capability and voice actuated control. Last year's standard six-disc CD changer moves to the options list, making way for a standard single-CD setup.
- Well-appointed interior, rides more like a sedan than an SUV, loaded with high-tech features, solid reputation for reliability, excellent dealer service.
- Less powerful than some of its competitors, soft ride makes for merely adequate handling in corners, no third-row seat option.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my RX330 - 2005 Lexus RX 330
By 1summerred - July 13 - 1:19 pmI really do love this vehicle. I wasnt even in the market for a Lexus. I have owned 3 Toyota 4-Runners in the past and was looking for another 4-Runner when I found my Lexus gem. I was looking in the $15K price range and wanted leather interior and 4 wheel drive. I was not able to find a 4-Runner that met these needs in my price range. I haphazardly saw the Lexus RX330 at a dealer lot, test drove it and fell in love. It didnt hurt that it only had 65k miles and was $15K with more bells and whistles than what I was originally looking for. I wont buy anything else. I also had a great dealership to work with which helped immensely.

Waste of Money - 2005 Lexus RX 330
By CarProfessional - June 29 - 10:30 pmThe purchase of this vehicle is now my most costly mistake. Based on the quality of Toyota trucks I have owned, I bought the RX330. The RXs interior is luxurious, and has nice features, but it is the poorest performing vehicle Ive ever driven. The transmission can take over one second to shift. Very dangerous when a car is coming toward you. When accelerating on freeway, RX goes through 2 gears to find the right one. Slowest responding transmission on the market Ive driven. Also the windshield fogs so severely inside that you have to constantly run the defroster which runs the A/C. Significantly reduces gas milage and visability for yet another major safety issue.

Forget the RX 330 - 2005 Lexus RX 330
By Cutie - April 18 - 12:06 amThis car has the slowest responding transmission Ive ever owned. Downshifts 2 gears when accelerating. Not responsive. Do your web homework and careful test drive on freeway. Push the RX and youll see, clunks through gears. Also, leather is cheap inside, and plastic feels cheap. Some models have no power door, no telescoping steering wheel, no leather. Dont buy this! 3 trips to the dealer, nothing but frustration. They say car is normal each time, want to reset ECU.

The Lexus Rx 330 has been teriffic - 2005 Lexus RX 330
By allyson rowen - March 26 - 6:40 pmI have driven this car and not once had a problem with it. It is comfortable, quiet, fun to drive, and is elegant as well. I have teenage kids, and even when they go to college, I will continue to drive this car. It had the automatic trunk door opener, which is great when my hands are full, and they are a lot!

A Good Car RX330 - 2005 Lexus RX 330
By Tom - December 1 - 11:23 amThe car is very quiet and very comfortable and smooth riding. For a tall person the head room is minimal. Overall it is a comfortable well built car.

More than we expected - 2005 Lexus RX 330
By Ed C - November 26 - 11:06 amMy wife and I shopped around the top brand SUVs and decided on the RX330. We have no complaints whatsover about this car after a month of ownership. The ride, the comfort, the looks, the navigation and stereo are more than we expected.

Nice, But Not Great.Quality Has Declined - 2005 Lexus RX 330
By Blair - November 18 - 7:36 amAlthough the RX330 has some improvements, there have been some steps backwards in my opinion. The car is much noisier than the RX300, particularly noticeable at speeds over 50. Highway noise is NOT muted as in other Lexus models, wind noise is a constant. Transmission shifting from a start is laborious and loud. The Mark Lev radio is nothing special and its volume controls are make it hard to find a volume that you can keep it on. The radio lite is too bright. The back-up camera is weak: at night the screen "whites out",and there is no useful depth perception. The adaptive headlights gyrate and flit around constantly as you go up and down hills and are of dubious benefit and value.
