This Year's Model Updates:

Minor upgrades are in store for the Sedona in its second year on the market. On the outside, buyers will find new taillights, and in the cabin, you'll note a new audio faceplate and a remote fuel-door release. The LX model gets a CD player, while the EX now comes with two keyless remotes, as well as additional leather on the armrests and lower portions of the seats. A trailer hitch is now available for all Sedonas.

Pros:
  • Excellent value, lots of cupholders and storage bins, solid build quality, good crash test scores, lengthy warranty coverage.
Cons:
  • Hefty curb weight, below-average gas mileage, missing a few key minivan features, potentially expensive to repair in minor collisions.

  • what I like about my van - 2003 Kia Sedona

We have an EX fully loaded. We use it for long distance travel only because we take a lot of trips that are over 500 miles or more. You said gas mil. is bad, but traveling on the highway at 65 to 75 mph, we get at least 25 mpg We never really use it for city driving. What made us choose this type of van was the seats were more comfortable than other vans we tried ( we have leather) and the road side assistance / 5 year-100000 mile warranty cant be beat. Besides I think it is a better looking minivan than Honda, Dodge or Ford. It does ride heavy, but it rides smooth and is a very quiet vehicle.

I bought a Sedona in Oct 2001 and it had an oil leak which the dealer could not fix after 5 attempts. Would you believe they gave me a new one without hesitation? Great customer service and Ill buy another when the warranty runs out!

it was a nice van until it got a oil leak that the dealership couldnt fix even with kias help. you might get all the goodies not included w/other vans but better check the mechanics, in other words, its cheaper for a reason.good thing its got a really good warrenty cause its going to be worked on a lot if this is the way the whole thing was made.

  • Good Van For Price - 2003 Kia Sedona

Plenty of power. Good handling. Excellent seat comfort for long drives. Great options. Can hold 7 adults. Average fuel economy. Built in garage door opener. Rear air/heat that can be controlled by the person setting in the back seat.

If you really look around on the reviews of www.edmunds.com, you may have noticed that I have written a few on the kias. We love them all, this van is no different. Granted, this Sedona has had its problems. Since the purchase of the Kia van, we have had to; replace the altinator, replace wheel barring, needs a a coil fixed ($500) and its a gas gussler. I will be the first to admit that I am byist for Kias, I love them. This van is smooth riding, great comfort. Just the older Kias had their problems. Not the new ones though.

  • Excellent for the money - 2003 Kia Sedona

Being a proud tightwad I couldnt get over all that the Kia sedona offered. First the dealer was exceptional. Secondly, the warranty, smooth ride and hidden little extras were a pleasant surprise. ( I got an LX with many EX features, free) The driver seat is not as roomy as my previous minivan. (dodge caravan) On long trips it can cramp legs and backs, however the seats do slide out indivually and the punch when you hit the pedal is there. All in all I would buy another sedona. For those prices ( 19,200) you cannot afford not too.

  • Time will tell - 2003 Kia Sedona

I just paid $22,700 for a loaded Sedona EX, it has everything but the trailer hitch. After doing an unbelievable amount of research, this is the car that stuck out. For what you get, this is absolutely unbeatable. Price any other vehicle with leather, full electric, etc etc and the difference is very large. Time will tell, but if it turns out to be a reliable vehicle, then this car will have no equal.

  • Great Van for the price - 2003 Kia Sedona

So far, this mini-van has performed really well and rides really smooth. Im not too happy with the gas mileage. It seems like Im filling up every other day. For the price range & the amenities, the Kia Sedona is worth it. I recommend it!!!

  • When compared to Odyssey.. - 2003 Kia Sedona

Bought my Sedona in NOVEMBER OF 2003. I couldnt put 2003 on the date purchased window. Cars great. Drives well. Havent driven much. When I got it, it had 8 miles. It has now aboutj 220 miles. So far, it drives well. I think, the steering is a bit too sensitive. Rear seats, kinda vibrate too much producing the vibration noise. Over all the minivan is excellent.
