  • Kia Amanti a Great Car - 2005 Kia Amanti

We had purchased a 2003 Kia van, enjoyed it and watched the reviews on the coming Amanti. We drove it, liked it and bought it. We have enjoyed the car. People stop use on a regular basis to ask what it is. It handles very well. No mechanical problems. The ride is great both in front and rear seats. It has nice features, phone plug ins in back and front. Heated seats, temperature control for passengers. Great car!

I really like the nice, smooth highway ride. The interior looks rich and controls work smoothly. I like the style of the roof, especially the rear. Its squared off, not rounded like all the rest.

Best deal I ever made in a car purchase. Great auto. Never had a problem. Only improvement would be better gas mileage which is not good.

  • I Own One, I Like It! - 2005 Kia Amanti

This car was designed to impress the passengers more than the pedestrians. While the design will not win any awards, I like it because it has a stately look to it. Tall greenhouse, aggressive front end, impressive stance. Its a pleasure to drive as long as you dont expect to beat the Chrysler 300C next to you at the stop light. I traded a Caddy Seville in on this car. I like the ride and features in the Amanti better.

  • Nice car for the money - 2005 Kia Amanti

I wanted a reasonably priced car with all the comfort features of a luxury sedan. The Amanti, while not the best on fuel economy, is a great driving car with all the bells and whistles. The warranty cant be beat. Resale value is still to be determined but it is a car I think you will keep for many years.

  • First car I loved - 2005 Kia Amanti

I had the Amanti 6 years and then had to sell. I loved that car but in the last year we put in over $3,000 for catalytic converter, some kind of band, headlights, testing, electrics and other misc. then got the news our transmission was going and another $2,500. Less than 92K miles & only 7 years old. I wanted to pay for repairs but husband told me to face the fact the car was going to nickle and dime us. I actually miss that car. For the price I originally paid, the luxury and style it provided, it couldnt be beat. This was my first foreign car, and probably the last.

  • Very poor gas mileage - 2005 Kia Amanti

After seven months of driving, 5,900 miles to date, according to the digital display I am "averaging" 12.5 mpg. The published mpg is 17 city / 20 highway. I am using 87 octane fuel and occasionally use mid-grade even though the manual calls for the 87 octane.

  • Amanti Ride - Enjoyable - 2005 Kia Amanti
    By -

For the money, it is a nice riding and fairly reliable automobile. The quality of interior components is great. The exterior trim and styling are outstanding. The drivetrain components maintain their life expectancy. Contrary to Consumer Reports, the car does NOT shake and rattle at high speeds. The exterior hepa filter for incoming air is a problem. When it clogs, its a $245.00 replacement item. The vehicle and computer will operate without the filter. At 30,000 miles, two new sets of front rotors, tires and oil/filter every 3,000 keeps me going. An enjoyable car to drive and maintain.

  • Amanti Problem - 2005 Kia Amanti
    By -

Bought used w/6970 mi.on it(told it was a salesmans who leased a new one).Got home & on parking in driveway noticed light on dash, brake light was out! Went back it was replaced, but this was just the start!!Have since replaced 17 bulbs on this car!!! Car was checked & was told nothing wrong, its normal on Kias,& theres a lot of electronics on the vehicle. Each time nothing wrong is found, it costs me $92,so much for the warranty!! Lightbulb replacement cost $35-$40,since you cant get to them w/out removing half the frontend. Have had bottom of seats, bushings, rear support brackets and shifter all replaced, all taking 2 visits to do,as have to wait for parts! Im upside down & have to keep.

  • not bad - 2005 Kia Amanti

Overall not too bad of a car. Have a strange clicking when turning in reverse. Interior is real nice, need to make a change to the exterior rear of auto - too plain looking, doesnt go with the nice front end.
