Overview & Reviews
The 2007 Jeep Patriot is a new compact SUV.
- Quiet on road, good ride and handling balance, above-average off-road ability, bargain pricing.
- Performance-sapping CVT is the only automatic transmission available, some cheap interior components, subpar cargo capacity.

Love It! - 2007 Jeep Patriot
By cladygray - October 21 - 3:20 pmHave owned the 07 Patriot since April. Was the last one on the lot for 07s. Got good deal. Did a lot of reading before test driving. Was looking for a more economical vehicle- still have Dodge Dakota Quad V8 but it sits in the driveway most of the time. Kept it to haul trailer & boat. Got the fully loaded version. Seats are very comfortable-both my husband and I have bad backs and have yet experienced any problems. Drive city & highway-have just got to 3000 miles and am getting 22-26 mpg. CVT took some time getting use to-really like the fact that you cant feel the gears change.

Worst headache vehicle ever - 2007 Jeep Patriot
By Scott - September 19 - 11:03 pmThis vehicle was a manufacturer buyback. It has been nothing but a major headache and stress producer. The engine is way underpowered for the body size. The seats quickly became very uncomfortable. The transmission keeps overheating and Chrysler has replace all the cheap parts but refuses to replace the actual transmission which is obviously the problem. Stay away.

SUV Bargain - 2007 Jeep Patriot
By JerZee Joe - August 26 - 7:30 amThis is my first Jeep and it is great! I always liked Jeep but never liked the mileage they got. Quiet, smooth, solid, affordable 4x4 ride. I did not experience any excessive road noise. Fun to drive, lots of comments on its great looks. With a 13.5 gallon tank it doesnt break the bank on fillups. The mileage keeps getting better the more I drive it. In driving to Tennessee it took the mountains with ease. Although it isnt a speed demon off the line, the engine is adequate for the vehicle, handles well. If you looking for more speed and power, then dont purchase an economy vehicle and wish it had more power. Plenty of storage room, I like the wide dash. Jeep has a winner with the Patriot!

Loved it, but now Im over it . . . - 2007 Jeep Patriot
By dl_in_ks - May 18 - 6:04 amI bought it new because of the looks and the "lifetime" warrenty. It does get pretty decent gas mileage but thats about it. I had replaced only the battery and tires by the time it hit 98,000 miles - 90% of which were highway miles and 0% off road. Then the problems started happening, the whole front end had to be replaced and its still making noises. The alternator went out, the sun roof is leaking, the CVT transmission scares me enough that at times Im scared to pull out into traffic. It now has 109,000 miles on it. I just returned from a week long/2,600 mile trip - I was concerned about being able to make it back home! This is my first Jeep, this is my last Jeep!

Love It Or Leave It - 2007 Jeep Patriot
By BLUELINE 1* - May 6 - 12:50 pmI own (3) Jeeps including the 2007 Jeep Patriot Limited . Im trying to decide whether to cross the line and purchase a Subaru Forester or trade the Patriot on the 2010 Jeep Liberty. The CVT transmission was replaced under warranty at 24,000. I have had repeated problems with the sunroof leaking and pouring water down through the courtesy lights. That said, I am a loyal "JEEP FAN " , which makes it harder to leave a product I love . Personally, as a retired LEO , Im a bit concerned about the vehicle sway . The promise of anti-roll mitigation is listed , but I dont want to be the one that puts it to the test .

Good Value SUV--Needs Bigger Fuel Tank! - 2007 Jeep Patriot
By deercroft - March 11 - 5:16 amOverall I am quite happy with my purchase. The Patriot with Freedom Drive II rides well and, despite comments about noise from the CVT I have no problems in that area. With seat height adjusted up, you also get good visibility (contrary to other views). Not as good as my old Jeep Cherokee overall but more comfortable/functional (except for driving range-see bigger fuel tank below), easier rear passenger access and nice fold flat seat system on passenger side. Hope someone designs aftermarket fuel tank fix. Even 10 l (2.5 US gal) more would be a huge improvement! I bought the vehicle knowing fuel tank would be a problem--still great value!

Great Small SUV - 2007 Jeep Patriot
By Naten53 - February 16 - 5:06 amI purchased mine 18 months ago. For a compact suv it performs exactly as expected. The best feature by far is the size compared to the fuel economy. Only complaints are because it is a small suv you do not have the storage capacity of large suvs however it is great for someone that does not need the large suv everyday. I have had it through two Pittsburgh winters and 4wd on farm roads and it has never had trouble (driving with caution in bad conditions of course).

4 Cylinder Jeep Cherokee -- Great - 2007 Jeep Patriot
By BarristerMiami - January 30 - 5:33 pmIts about time Jeep came out with a 4 cylinder Cherokee! Always have loved Jeep products, but the gas guzzling 4.0 and 3.7 liter 6 cylinder engines are old hat given todays gas prices. Compass is too girly; Patriot is for all. Now Im waiting for a 4 cylinder Wrangler! That would make life sweet.

Loved my Jeep Patriot! - 2007 Jeep Patriot
By Todd - January 20 - 1:10 amPurchased brand new and drove it for 45,000 trouble free miles. I changed the oil every 3,000 and replaced a set of tires around 35,000 miles. I changed the spark plugs at 30,000 miles. Other than those standard maintenance items, the Jeeper was great. It is a great looking vehicle, got decent gas mileage (Avg 21 MPG), and was comfortable to drive. This is a great vehicle if you love the Jeep brand but dislike the normal gas mileage you get from a Jeep.
