  • Fun to Drive - 2006 Hyundai Tiburon

I couldnt really afford the Accord I wanted and the Civic was just too squaty looking. I saw an article in the paper about the Tiburon and Hyundai and was sold. It had the sunroof and 6- disc changer the I was looking for. It is a great car and I love to drive it.

I love my 2006 Hyundai Tiburon. It drives and handles great. I love the look of it, I have had the most compliments on how sporty and sexy my Tiburon looks. I wouldnt trade having one for anything. Cant wait to see what the next one will look like.

Despite what some of the reviews on her say I have yet to have any problems with Tiburon at all. I bought it in early 07 at 13k miles. It now is just under 39k miles. It has driven from Florida all the way to Washington, state not D.C., all it needed after that was an oil change. It is VERY comfortable for a sporty car, The car is very comfortable, the seats support your back very well. Though it is a very cramped if youre over 6 if not it seems very roomy. Interior is very sleek and sporty looking. Sunroof can be somewhat stubborn sometimes. Exterior is beautiful as well. One downside is that though it does have 4 seats the back two are some what trivial due to the lack of leg space.

  • Nice looking zippy car - 2006 Hyundai Tiburon

This car is a very nice realiable car for a sport compact. The design of the car is definitely a head turner. I of course have young kids coming up to me asking me about it but what I thought was weird is that older men in their 50s or later seem to be interested in this lil car. I guess it does make a good mid life crisis car that is very affordable at around 22 grand for the SE six speed model that i have. It gets what it says it gets and that is 26mpg. It is a zippy lil car but i would be happier for the v6 to be putting out more like 230 hp instead of the week 172. I guess its easier to honor that 10 year 100,000 mile drive train warranty that way. Anyway its a very good car for the cash

"Yeah right.. a HYUNDAI.." or at least thats what I thought when I was ready to buy a new car. My Ford died at 84,000 miles so I traded it in for $4,000 looking at the Civic Si, Eclipse, WRX, tC, RSX, and a few others. Loved my stepsisters 06 Sonata so decided to give Hyundai a try. I never thought Id own a Korean car, but this one is perfect. My car had to have auto climate, V6 (or similar) refinement, leather, moon roof, and premium sound. That pretty much knocked everything out but the Tiburon, Eclipse, and RSX. Minor complaints, but no regrets. This was the best car by far. Firm but not harsh, comfortable but not boring, feels like our 06 C280 in terms of driving feel. Love it.

  • 2006 model purchased in 2008! - 2006 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

I purchased my 2006 Tiburon in 2008 at 30,000 miles! As an 18 year old this was a dream. For the price I financed, the vehicle depreciated in value rather quickly. I was "upside down" after only 2 years, the amount I owed was more than the car was worth. Thats the thing about Hyundai though! HOWEVER, I drove the heck out of this car daily, I needed new brakes and new battery in 2011 at around 130,000 miles. (This is amazing for the amount of mileage and wear I put on this vehicle) In July 2014 at 154,000 miles, the car began overheating daily and therefore we replaced the radiator. I drove it fine until December 2014 when it randomly overheated one winter day and the following morning would not start. At 160,000 miles the car required a totally new engine. The cost of the engine replacement was more than the car was valued at the time but I sucked it up and replaced it anyway. I vowed to keep up with the oil changes on schedule!! After the new engine, we lived happily ever after until I purchased a 2011 BMW Mini Cooper in May of 2015 (huge difference, I know, but remember I was only 18 when I chose the Tiburon and now I am 25) Im now experiencing major problems with the Mini and Im about to re-tag and insure the faithful loyal old Tiburon again because she has always been there for me! The other quirk to the Tib that I must mention as have others, the thing EATS tires!!!!! I cant even count how many times I have had to buy tires for the car! Its no joke!

  • Best price/performance ever - 2006 Hyundai Tiburon

This is my first car purchase. I am not a street racer but I wanted a smaller car, definately a two door, and it had to look cool. This is the smoothest ride of any car I have ever been in. When I do 80 it feels like I am doing 40 (which landed me a ticket unfortunately). The limited edition is well worth it. The leather is very classy and the sound system rules. I wouldnt reccomend this car for a racer as the horse power is a bit below par of other cars like the eclipse. But this car destroys the scion Tc, anyday. If youre a person looking for a cool 2 door ride that is affordable, this is the way to go for sure. I cannot reccomend this car enough.

The radio antenna is manual, i.e., one gets out of the car and unscrews it before going through a car wash. I didnt know this was a possibilty and of course the salesman did not mention it. Where I live snow is packed in and I cannot get it off (ok, so Im 64 years old). But otherwise, it is a great car (although Ive only had it for a week). I love the short stick shift and everything else about it.

  • Amazing Car, Amazing Price - 2006 Hyundai Tiburon

This Car first grabbed my attention for its style, I wanted a sports car with a sleek and sexy design, this car definitely has it. It drives really smooth, but it could use more pick up and power. it is average in gas mileage, but considering it is a V-6, I expected that. It handles really well on the turns, and the michelin tires are the perfect touch for superior road hugging capabilities, they do ride hard over bumps though, all in all this car is a highly recommended ride it delivers performance, sought after features, reliability, and it just a beautiful car that gets alot of second looks. compared to cars in its class, the Tib, is in my opinion, the best car for the money.

  • Love it, but CONSTANTLY in the shop. - 2006 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

Car is BABIED, and yet at only 25k miles Ive had to put her in the shop nearly every 3 months for something major. It never ends. Had to replace numerous speed censors, the entire flywheel/clutch assembly, complete transmission change-out (mine is a 6- speed manual, that suddenly gave out a couple weeks ago), and sunroof control, along with ongoing minor annoyances like constant blown fuses from stock wiring issues. Ridiculous. I love this car to death and take such good care of it.. but every time I turn around Im running into major work that needs to be done on her. Having bought her used, I only get the 60k mile warranty, so I might SELL her before then! Yikes.
