This Year's Model Updates:

For 2007, Hyundai has shuffled the Sonata's trim levels. GLS replaces the previous GL moniker and Limited takes the place of LX. Hyundai has also introduced a new sporty SE trim. Later in the model year, a tire-pressure monitor and XM radio become standard across the line.

Pros:
  • Upscale look and feel, refined performance with V6, smooth ride, roomy cabin, standard stability control, attractive value and warranty coverage.
Cons:
  • Steering somewhat vague, automatic transmissions are fussy in manual-shift mode, heated seats on the weak side.

  • This Hyundai doing better than a lexus - 2007 Hyundai Sonata

I did not expect such excellent quality from Hyundai. Well this one with 5M runs like a Lexus IS300. Well actually better than the Lexus. The top two Japanese brands such as Honda and Toyota won their high reputation over the past couple decades. I think Hyundai will achieve the same high reputation within the next two years. This 06 Sonata outperforms Toyota Camry and Honda Accord not only by the price advantage but also by its built quality and superior performance!

I read everything in sight and did a lot of research. After driving both the 4cyl and the V6 we decided on the 4cyl. Our dealer was very cooperative and let us check the cars out and get in some realistic drive time. It is very responsive and has plenty of get up and go. We have not experienced any of the few negatives that I came across in our research. My daughter has had a Hyundai for 4 years and highly recommended this brand to us.

I dont like my new Sonata Limited Platinum - What a huge mistake! The main problem I have with the car is the outrageously over-sensative electronic throttle. After 3 weeks of driving it I have a horrible ache in my foot because Im always holding it in a wierd position up off the throttle. Im unable to rest my foot on the throttle at all, there is no swivel arm action either, the gas pedal is just a hunk of plastic. The vehicle is also VERY slow to upshift on full acceleration. Ive had to adjust my driving to allow for a second or two before the car actually takes off, however when it finally does decide to go it really gets up and goes! it is fast and safe, I will give it that.

All I can say is this thing is freakin awesome. I have been looking for 10 months and have test drove everything under the sun. Car handle better than the Maxima and Altima I drove. Looks better than the Camry I looked at. Out performed the Accord. Blew the doors of of Sebring and was better built that the Fusion or Milan. All I can say is the Sonata is awesome and Hyundai has come a long way.

I looked at the Accord and test drove it and then looked at the Sonata and the choice was easy to me, Hyundai was a no brainer buy for me hands down, got the Platinum edition and you just cant beat the price.

4000 miles so far no troubles, the only concern I have with this vehicle is the fuel economy, My car has not got the mileage the sticker says it should get. But has great power for a 4 cylinder. Very fun to drive!

I’ve driven it 7500 miles so far. I wasn’t expecting much from this car, I brought it for commuting purposes, but, it’s exceeded my expectations; it’s quick, has firm handling and is fun to drive. I’m averaging 23 MPG combine highway/city. You can’t beat the price!!! Ill definitely buy another Hyundai

Some minor adjustments needed (hood alignment, headlight aiming). A little bit of rattling in the cabin while driving on bumpy road.

After my 7 yr old Elantra got rearended and totalled, I simply went back to Hyundai and bought a Sonata. I wanted to buy another Elantra originally but decided to upgrade. Im very sad to lose my beloved Elantra who saved me from 3 accidents in total but also Im happy to be a proud owner of another Hyundai. I strongly trust their safety and reliability. For 7 yrs I had absolutely zero problem with the Elantra. I paid $17,700 for my Sonata with premium pkg after loyalty discount and cash rebate. Pleasant exprience at the dealership. Sonata isnt as quiet as Camry. But still very quiet & great handling esp. at corners. Very roomy and great pickup w/ 4 cyl. Very responsive break. Great car!
