  • Great Car - 2009 Hyundai Elantra
    By -

This is my second Hyundai. In general I like this car. I have just begun after 11,000 miles to get good gas mileage. took a trip and got 37mpg. Interior is nice to the eyes, but mine has several small creaks and squeaks around front/back windshield, stereo surround. Outside pass side door handle gets stuck and door wont close. Other than that I like it.

  • My First New Car - 2009 Hyundai Elantra
    By -

I love this car it is very good on gas and its little enough to park almost anywhere! Ive had this car for about 4 months now and I love it, and its quiet on the highways. it needs a little work in the upgrading department as far as bluetooth, and interior and exterior accessories.

  • Wish it had telescopic steering wheel - 2009 Hyundai Elantra
    By -

Replaced a 1994 Corolla that i really liked. Purchased mainly by price but positive reviews were also important. Driving comfort and MPGs are important to me. My main complaint is no telescopic steering wheel. Did not notice this during test drive, but in order for arms to be comfortable, I have to put the seat very close (I am short, 56"). Hopefully ill get used to it.

  • Ride and Road noise!? - 2009 Hyundai Elantra
    By -

After 3000 miles am very happy with SE Except for Ride (any bump is transmitted to my a..) and Road Noise (sound of tires against asphalt ((no concrete here)) very high on freeways and state/local roads.) Wonder if stock tires on alloy 16 rims to blame? Sidebar: Ive been driving 50 years.

  • Engine vibration above 2500rpm - 2009 Hyundai Elantra
    By -

I bought the Elantra back in August 2009, 3600 miles currently. It has performed reliably, no major mechanical problems. Handles well, though the steering is a little stiff. For a small car, it rides well on a variety of surfaces. However, the engine vibration is excessive above 2500RPM in all gears. It is felt in the drivers feet. I took the car to the dealer ship and was assured that this is normal by the service department. I did not run it above 2500RPM during the test drive. The manual says that during the first 600 mile break in to run the engine between 2000-4000rpm. The vibration has reduced a little since August 2009.

  • exterior noise - 2009 Hyundai Elantra

Can hear a lot of the road while driving but other than that a great car so far.

  • No Regrets - 2009 Hyundai Elantra

Purchased the car with Cash for Clunkers and got it for just under $10K. Considered Honda, Toyota, Mazda and Dodge but happy I settled with Elantra. Taken one long trip and averaged 36 mpg. The ride is quite and comfortable with an interior space that lets you hear music at a reasonable volume with a stereo system much better than what you would expect in this class. The seats are excellent for not being adjustable. I have a combat injury to my back and was quite surprised at the seat support comfort on a long trip. I have owned two Honda Civics and consider this vehicle a much better value especially when comparing the warranty coverage. Hyundai has come a long way, baby!

  • Very impressed - 2009 Hyundai Elantra

I have only had this vehicle since end of July 2009 and must say that I am quite happy with it so far. It is the GL w/ the sport package(rear spoiler, 16 " alum. wheels, fog lights and skirt package. It really makes the car stand out beside a regular elantra. My only complaint is the rear trunk lid has developed a very annoying rattle, dealer says it may be the spare tire tools and jack. Otherwise, it is a great little car. Great on gas, fit and finish is good, and it handles quite nicely. Anyone considering a Toyota Corola, or Honda Civic should look at this vehicle before they buy...

  • Good Choice - 2009 Hyundai Elantra
    By -

Had the car for 3 weeks now and am pleased with it. I never considered buying a Elantra, but friends of ours has 2 and love them. I wanted a car thats reliable, safe, good mpg, comfortable and affordable-the Elantra was it! No other car maker came close with the same options & price plus warranty. Its not sporty or a head turner, but for me thats ok.

  • suprised buyer - 2009 Hyundai Elantra
    By -

bought a elanta gls, auto. went from a Mustang GT. which was fully loaded. Overall, very suprised, was expecting a slow, sluggish car, nice handling and decently comfortable. Gas milage is outstanding, getting 37mpg without the car being broken in yet. Braking response is great, only complaints, high engine rpms at 70, almost 3k rpm on expressway, steering is heavy compared to every other vehicle I have drivin. Cant beat the warranty, and with cash for clunkers, final price $9800 for a car with an invoice price of 18K. Will write a new review when I have more miles on my car. Only have 200 at this time.
