  • WHATS NOT TO LOVE? - 2003 Honda Pilot
    By -

My wife talked me into getting a practical car. I was very sceptical being used to BMW or AUDI--but I just grow to love it more and more. Great power, decent handling, supurb layout of gages and controls. To be fair I only have 400 miles on it but there is NOTHING I wish was different yet, exccpt maybe a stiffer suspension. My son cant rave enough about the DVD and rear stereo options. We used to never take my BMW 750il as a family, we always took the surburban--now we only use this thing!! Thanks Honda!!

Very roomy and smooth to drive. Tough and solid! Feels somewhat luxurious yet so reasonably priced.

  • A year of enjoyment! - 2003 Honda Pilot
    By -

My wife and I have had our Pilot for a year and are extremely pleased with it. We just returned from a 3000 mile road trip to Seattle and back through Yellowstone NP. The Pilot never hesitated climbing the steep mountain grades. We passed many Toyotas and Fords as they bogged down on the ascents. The Pilot never flinched as the cruise control kept its setting. We find the Pilot to be very comfortable on long trips.

  • 2003 Pilot Falling Apart - 2003 Honda Pilot
    By -

I have a 2003 Pilot EX-L with RES with 79,000 miles. Gradually, the thing is falling apart. After 3 years, the A/C broke. Shortly after that, 2 door locks broke. The quality of the leather is terrible. The drivers side visor mirror cover broke. The plastic on the bottom side of the drivers side broke off. One of the rear A/C vents broke. The car is even starting to rust right in the middle of the passengers side door for no apparent reason! This is unbelievable! When I speak to Honda about these issues, they say they have never heard of such problems. However, I am finding by reading online that my problems are quite common. What has happened to Hondas quality?

  • I would never purchase Honda Pilot - 2003 Honda Pilot

The heating /cooling ventilation system is poor, bad circulation, side windows ice up inside during driving to ski resorts. Car seats 7 passengers and one driver, but windows fog up all around vehicle interior with only three passengers. Seats are built so close together, impossible to get fingers down to floor level to retrieve dropped coins, credit cards, vacuum crumbs etc, hard to clean carpets as nozzle does not fit in such tight spaces where seats are anchored. Plastic in vehicle is poor quality, breaks easily. Had number of factory recalls for safety restraint systems, All in all, a poorly-designed car.

  • Pilot is worth the wait! - 2003 Honda Pilot

I had originally set my mind on the GMC Envoy XL, but we were very impressed with the Pilot ride quality, it seemed more composed than the GM SUVs. I thought that the Envoy would feel more powerful, but I was wrong, the Pilots 240 hp is more that plenty, even with my wife, the salesman, and our 3 kids inside. The VTM-4 All Wheel Drive seems to work great so far, though we have yet to use it in snow, etc. The fuel economy has been 18.2 mpg so far. (Used to get 13-15 in my Grand Cherokee V8) The seats are very comfortable. I paid about $3500 less for the Pilot than I would have paid for the 3 row seat Envoy XL.

  • Solid SUV - 2003 Honda Pilot
    By -

Overall a very solid SUV and supprisingly roomy if your lucky enough to get one. Great family hauler with the benefit of 4WD if needed. So far quality seems excellent. Fairly bland styling but it avoids the plastic frills of a lot of todays SUVS (ie. Trail blazer). All of the benefits of the MDX minus a few dollars.

  • Rolling in New Pilot - 2003 Honda Pilot

Excellent! Best all around value for fuel economy/cargo/passenger seating available. Rides like a car.
