  • Pretty Pleased with My Pilot - 2003 Honda Pilot

Small, Mid-Size and Large SUVs...I looked at them ALL for 2 years because I need AWD to get to my backwoods home in a wild northern climate. After much research, I finally decided on the Pilot. Picked it up from the dealer and spent the next 12 hours driving it 800 miles home. By the time I reached my own (unplowed) driveway, I was pretty happy with my decision. After the Pilot plowed through a foot and a half of snow on the 1/2 mile long driveway and slipped into the garage without breaking a sweat, I was in love. I had a great dealer experience, the car is truly a joy to drive - even after 12 hours straight. And, I can fit EVERYTHING in it!

We purchased our Pilot in Sept.02 to pull a trailer and move our oldest to Seattle...it drove great and pulled the trailer fine...I love the way it handles ..the NAV system was fun. I am most unhappy with the fact the middle and back seats do not recline enough for kids to sleep..its hard to take trips with kids with upright seats. After 12 years of Astro vans we are having a time adjusting to the lost space...our last trip was really tough we were packed in like sardines...we are taking a good look at the Toyota Sequoia knowing that kids only get bigger and if were cramped now.....

Yhe Pilot replaced my truck and has done an extremely fine job of towing and passenger carrying. It is far more comfortable and enjoyable than any trucks I tested. Pricewise I feel it is worth the money thus far. Handled well on snow and sleet in recent encounter with poor driving conditions.

    1. There is not enough legroom for the third seat. Even the second row does not move forward so to adjust the legrooms between 2nd and third seats 2. The wheel base is not so wide which is essential for SUVs whose Center of gravity is generally eccentric. 3. There should be heated seats 4. Front passanger seat should be automatic 5. The vehicle should have Trip computer 6. Very very expensive (Dealer was asking $500.00 more than MSRP) 7. Dealer negotiatation is a pain. It is too much for a new SUV which is yet to prove itself on the SUV race. 8. The left foot rest location is under the parking brake making you

  • Good but... - 2003 Honda Pilot

Like it so far. Bought it over Highlander, Seqoia, TrailBlazer. Enjoy the navigation system. The specs say 19.2gallon fuel tank. But it takes 20gallons when the fuel light comes on!! Bit concerned about inaccurate sensor and running out of gas. Tried it a several gas stations with same result. The driver seat moves/rattles on sharp curves.

  • Hondas Rule - 2003 Honda Pilot

The honda pilot is the ultimate real world SUV. The VTM-4 allows 4WD on ice and snow or lowering a boat into the water, in conditions that you would drive less than 20 mph. Not for the rugged off road use or full time 4WD. Safety features rule: 4 total airbags, 5 star crash rated, 4 star rollover rating. Engine runs on regular gas and still will get 22 mpg. Interior rocks but exterior could maybe be made more aesthetically pleasing. Hondas are known for quality and reliability, not really for style though. Third row seat lays down flush and is not even noticed until you need it. Stereo is really nice, EX comes with subwoofer that sounds great.

I just picked up my 2004 Honda Pilot EX with cloth interior. What a quality SUV the cloth seat are the best Ive seen yet from Honda and Ive owned two others. Very comfortable double stiched seams with a great gray color. Overall Im impressed with the entire package lots of nice features you can tell honda did there homework before releasing this SUV.

  • It works - 2003 Honda Pilot

Ive had my Pilot for three months and have been very happy. I love the functional interior and large cargo area. I find that it meets all my needs and the EX Black is better looking then most of the other colors IMHO.

  • A Great - 2003 Honda Pilot

I bought it for its great all around utility. It has a lot of interior room and a lot of thoughtful storage and tie- downs. I wanted a reliable, safe and useful "utility" vehicle. It isnt as quiet or luxurious as an Acura or Lexus; but I wasnt willing to spend the extra money to obtain this additional quiet or extra "plush" interior. It rides very carlike, handles well for its size and, if it turns out to be a typical Honda in reliabiltity, I will be happy with it. For its price range I think it is great vehicle.

One dealer would sell MSRP, but order to take 6 months. St. Johns Honda, Portland, Oregon. Nice dealership. Like the way they do business. Actually acquired from different dealer. Got options at dealer cost which brought cost back down (approx. to MSRP) and got car immediately.
