  • Affordable price, excellent fuel economy, seamless hybrid powertrain, pleasant driving experience.
Cons:
  • Tight backseat, invasive road noise.

  • My first hybrid - 2010 Honda Insight

I wasnt inspired by the Priuss unchanging design over the years, which started to look old after awhile. Honda is definitely offering something fresh, with real style. I have only had the 2010 Insight for about 3 weeks and am getting an average 46 mpg without using the econ mode. The driver feedback displays are really good, and help you to economize. I was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry before, and miss the size and power a little bit, but the hybrids really enable you to see what you are doing while driving, and encourage green driving. What a change, and now the other vehicles on the road seem so out-of-date. The future is electric and hydrogen, and the hybrid gets us closer.

  • Great Decision - 2010 Honda Insight

Currently averaging 45.3 miles per gallon, and on various trips averaged 55 to 60 mpg (95% of my driving has been on econ mode). The car was carefully put together and made affordable for a 25 year old like me. Missing some luxury and quality, but happy with the simplicity that the car brings. I am 62" and have plenty of head room, and distance between me and the steering wheel. Could get a little tight in the back for someone my size, but it is manageable. The technological features are useful. If you are patient and smart on the road, then you will maximize the efficiency of this car, and also find time to play with the sporty features.

  • Its a good car. Period. - 2010 Honda Insight

I compared the I2 to a number of other compact cars in the sub-$20k range. It drives better than any other car except for the Honda Fit. The driving feel is nearly as solid as the Saab 9-3 I own, except of course for the lack of 90 extra horses and no turbo. Its also a lot quieter on the inside than the hodgepodge of cars Ive owned previously (I know several magazines said the interior is noisy -maybe compared to a Lexus?). Though its not as tall as the Fit, with less cargo volume, the I2 can fit longer items which is useful for me. The so-called blind spot doesnt bother me -its negated by the giant mirrors. Take the I2 on its merits as a car and the only competitor is the Fit.

  • Superb transportation - 2010 Honda Insight

To me, this car exceeds advertised expectations which is unique in todays world. 95% of my driving is in the city and I easily get in excess of 45 mpg. I am surprised after reading some of the more recent reviews, that no one seems to mention the paddle shifters. This is a real innovation in my opinion. Not only does Honda allow you to drive in the most economic mode possible, but when you need some extra acceleration (such as an on-ramp to an interstate), you can REALLY make this car go. It feels just like driving a stick shift without the need for a clutch. Naturally, this will not get you the best mileage, but for those situations when you need some added boost, it is there.

  • Peppy, fun to drive - 2010 Honda Insight
    By -

Bought this car an hour after test driving Honda Civic. Found Insight almost as peppy but with a slightly softer ride. Car is so bright inside, you feel like you have a sunroof. No complaints about acceleration: you just have kick down hard on the gas pedal as the manual recommends. Driving position and road feedback are exceptional. My two main complaints are that the sound system in LX model is a lot tinnier than in my 2008 Hyundai Sonata and the headlights arent bright enough.

  • Love Our Hybrid!! - 2010 Honda Insight

We traded in a REAL clunker (1988 Chevy blazer, about 16mpg) for the Insight EX, and couldnt be happier with the better mileage. The car has a roomy feel in the front seats and our dogs love the fold-down back seats. I love the video-style dash, and my husband loves spending $20 a week in fuel, as opposed to the $200 a week he was spending for his work commute. Steering is too tight at highway speeds; any steering movement causes over-response from wheels, and there is a definite roll-back problem on steep hills. I average 52 mpg for combo city/highway, and my husband gets about 42 for highway with hills. Overall great car for the $$, and our gas $$ savings is more than double the payment!

  • A Mean Little Hybrid - 2010 Honda Insight
    By -

I absolutely love my Insight. I love the way it handles like a Honda versus other hybrids. The dash panel makes viewing and learning how to properly drive a hybrid a breeze. I highly recommend this vehicle for handling, gas mileage, and a stylish look for the exterior. It is the meanest looking hybrid on the market (if a safer for the environment car can be mean).

  • So far so good - 2010 Honda Insight
    By -

So far I really like my insight. Only real problem is plastic on hatchback broke part with light so I have to get it replaced. Love the mpg and enough room for my two kids and shopping. Wish she had a little more power on the hills but Ive learned to be light on the peddle.

  • M3 to Insight Convert, Yes, True. - 2010 Honda Insight

I have LOVED and own BMW M3s, S4s, TTs, for the past ten years. You guys say: So...whah? You gonna try an Insight??? Yeah, I drove it and dug it. This car surprised and delighted me, quick, fun, great cargo.

Such excellent mileage. I get easily 47 MPG in city and freeway combined. Price over mileage is excellent.
